Now Their Kids Have Been Denied Re-Enrollment.\">podcast host called<\/a> the film, \u201ca flaming piece of dog s***\u2063 piled atop an entire dumpster on\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ben-shapiro-shreds-barbie-in-epic-full-review\/\" title=\"Ben Shapiro destroys 'Barbie' in epic review.\">fire piled atop<\/a> a landfill filled with dog s***.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Hosts Clash Over &#8220;Barbie&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But not \u200devery Daily Wire host had the same reaction. \u201cThe Comments Section\u201d host <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/brett-cooper\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Brett Cooper<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  enjoyed \u2062\u201cBarbie,\u201d which led to\u2062 her having \u2064a lively debate with Shapiro about the merits of the film.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cooper showed up to\u2064 the conversation decked out in pink, including a \u2062hat that said\u2062 \u201cMake America Hot Again.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cooper said she watched Shapiro\u2019s \u200bentire critique and conceded\u200d that\u2064 he made \u201ca lot of excellent\u200c points,\u201d but it wasn\u2019t enough to change her mind about the movie.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cooper admitted that\u200d the plot was \u201cnot \u2062the \u2063greatest in \u2062terms of its construction,\u201d which was a major flaw Shapiro pointed out\u200d in his review. \u201cIt was \u200bvery, very messy, but you can\u2019t deny \u2062that \u200bit was fun,\u201d Cooper said. \u201cIt was colorful. It was a great time.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She called it \u201can escape in many ways\u201d and reiterated that it was \u201cfun.\u201d Cooper described how the \u2064whole audience was laughing and\u2063 enjoying themselves. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIt felt totally different than \u2064anything that I\u2019d seen in a while,\u201d Cooper said. \u201cKind of reminded me of \u2018La La Land,\u2019 which was \u200cobjectively much better\u200c than \u2018Barbie,\u2019 but in \u2064the same way that it was very \u2026 out\u2062 of \u2062this world.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She said most movies and TV shows these days are \u201cdark and\u2063 dreary and depressing,\u201d which made the colorful nature of \u201cBarbie\u201d stand out. <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Shapiro Criticizes Film&#8217;s Politics<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Shapiro hit\u2064 back, saying the production and set design are great but the politics really ruin the movie. He said America Ferrara\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ben-shapiro-and-brett-cooper-debate-merits-of-barbie-movie\/\" title=\"Ben Shapiro and Brett Cooper discuss the value of the 'Barbie' film.\">big\u2064 pro-feminist speech<\/a> is \u201ccringy,\u201d which Cooper agreed with. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThe politics of the film are completely askew,\u201d Shapiro said. \u201cBecause the entire basis of the\u2064 film is that the real world is a complete patriarchy, so magically patriarchal that Ken learns from it and goes back to \u2062Barbie Land where he then applies the patriarchal standards of the real\u2062 world \u2026 and that the only solution to create paradise is that men and women must be separated from one another.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Next, Shapiro pointed out how everyone in the movie is \u201cunhappy,\u201d\u200d which unintentionally proves a conservative point.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Shapiro also questioned the\u200c ending \u200bof the movie, calling it \u201csuper transphobic\u201d because the one thing that\u2062 makes Barbie a real woman is getting real woman parts and visiting a gynecologist. Cooper agreed that the\u2062 ending is \u201cterrible.\u201d  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cooper did find a silver lining, however. She pointed\u2063 out how Barbie chose to\u2062 go \u2064to \u201cthe\u2064 real world\u201d despite being given the option of staying in Barbie Land, which was\u200b restored to a matriarchy following\u200b Ken\u2019s failed coup.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cShe\u2019s choosing to live in a world that\u2019s maybe not perfect,\u201d she\u200d said. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Shapiro said the film could have made an important point if the filmmakers had chosen to make \u2063Ken and Barbie partners rather than keep\u200b them in an eternal competition. He also said that if the main problem presented in\u200c the film is \u2062Barbie\u2019s irrepressible thoughts of death, then there needs to\u2064 be some sort of \u201cspiritual\u201d or \u201cfamilial\u201d solution. Instead, the ending never answers these lingering questions. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Instead, director Greta Gerwig created \u201ca box for herself\u201d rooted in \u201csecular feminism\u201d that ensures the movie doesn\u2019t provide \u200dany kind of solution.
