Cuomo Shunned Experts, Embraced Lobbyists, Drove Top Health Officials To Quit Over Pandemic Response: Report\">closed-door meetings<\/a>,\u200b perceiving this as a potential \u200dturning point for Israel.<\/p>\n<p>The subject was discussed at a \u200cthree-hour meeting last \u2062week involving a senior commander from \u200dIran&#8217;s Quds \u200bForce, the arm of its Revolutionary Guards that funnels military support to\u200d Tehran&#8217;s allies, two Iranian security officials and \u2062officials from Palestinian\u2063 Islamist group Hamas, an Iranian diplomat said.<\/p>\n<p>After concluding that the crisis had already weakened\u2064 Israel, they agreed they should refrain from any &#8220;direct interference,&#8221; believing this could give\u2062 Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the chance to shift blame to foreign adversaries.<\/p>\n<p>A Hamas source declined to comment on the \u2064account, saying there are\u2062 ongoing discussions between Hamas, Iran and the Quds\u2062 Force &#8220;over the whole situation and to discuss ways to upgrade the work of resistance&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Iran&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tensions-flare-between-china-india-after-clashes-at-himalayan-border\/\" title=\"Tensions flare between China, India after clashes at Himalayan border\">foreign ministry<\/a> and the Guards&#8217; public relations office could not be immediately reached for comment.<\/p>\n<h3>Hezbollah on\u2062 Patrol<\/h3>\n<p>The upheaval marks one of the most serious domestic crises since Israel was established in 1948, ushering in decades of conflict with Arab countries and\u2063 Palestinians who want\u2062 to establish\u200b a state in territory occupied\u2062 by Israel.<\/p>\n<p><span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\">Israel&#8217;s<\/span> parliament on Monday ratified \u2064a\u2063 first bill of the\u2064 judicial overhaul, limiting the powers of the country&#8217;s Supreme Court, prompting more protests by Israelis \u2062who see the moves as \u2063a menace to their democracy.<\/p>\n<p>The divisions have seeped \u200dinto the Israeli military, which has fought numerous conflicts with Lebanon&#8217;s Hezbollah and the Palestinian factions Hamas\u2063 and Islamic Jihad, both \u2064backed\u200b by Iran.<\/p>\n<p>Israeli protest \u2062leaders have said thousands of volunteer reservists could abstain from duty\u200b if the government\u2062 stays the course, and former senior military \u2064officials have warned that <span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\">Israel&#8217;s<\/span> \u200d war-readiness could be at risk.<\/p>\n<p>A video\u2062 shared on social media on Tuesday \u200cshowed elite fighters from Hezbollah mounting a rare patrol directly at the fenced Lebanese border with Israel, according \u2063to a \u200dLebanese source familiar with the deployment.<\/p>\n<p>The source said the patrol along \u2064the rugged \u200bfrontier, where tensions have been running high of late, had nothing to do with events in Israel. Hezbollah&#8217;s media office \u200ddeclined to comment.<\/p>\n<p>The source said however\u2063 that Hezbollah officials\u2063 have discussed the crisis in detail at the highest levels.
