Their focus is on gun violence\u200b committed by criminals.\u200b Their\u2063 biased\u200c narrative puts more blame \u200don\u2064 the \u200cguns than \u200con the people using them. Any commentary usually calls for plans \u2062to disarm \u200d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-sheriffs-tell-newsom-they-wont-enforce-covid-curfew\/\" title=\"California Sheriffs Tell Newsom They Won't Enforce COVID Curfew\">law-abiding citizens<\/a>, even though they\u2062 are not the ones committing firearm violations.<\/p>\n<h3>The Underplayed Importance\u200d of Personal\u2063 Protection<\/h3>\n<p>The media also underplays how often\u2063 guns are\u2064 used for personal protection, which is\u2062 one of the major reasons people choose to arm themselves. Guns are the\u2064 great equalizer,\u2064 providing a measure of security against aggression.<\/p>\n<p>On July 19, \u2064one homeowner in Jacksonville \u2062Beach, Florida,\u200b exercised \u2063his right to self-defense. The elderly man used \u2062a gun\u2064 to subdue a\u200c home-invading intruder. The trespasser was held at gunpoint by the \u2063homeowner until \u200cthe police came. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-details-emerge-regarding-quadruple-homicide-on-college-campus\/\" title=\"New Details Emerge Regarding Quadruple Homicide on College Campus\">alleged home invader<\/a> was arrested and charged on a charge of second-degree forcible felony for burglary.<\/p>\n<p>The Neptune Beach Police Department shared on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=695374982623988&#038;set=a.227729166055241\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> \u200d that they were called to the couple\u2019s home, \u2062where a man identified as Antonio Grant reportedly forced the rear door\u200b open.<\/p>\n<p>Jacksonville NBC station \u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.news4jax.com\/news\/local\/2023\/07\/21\/homeowner-holds-man-attempting-to-rob-jacksonville-beach-home-at-gunpoint\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WJXT-TV<\/a> said the alleged intruder had a \u200blong police \u200brecord. \u200dGrant had just\u2062 been\u200b released from prison\u200b after serving time \u2063for an \u2063<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/elderly-homeowner-turns-tables-on-burglar-holds-him-at-gunpoint-until-police-arrive-cops\/\" title=\"Elderly homeowner thwarts burglar, holds him at gunpoint until police come.\">attempted forcible sexual \u200dbattery<\/a> in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>At\u200b the time of that earlier 2018 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionnewsjax.com\/news\/local\/report-witness-followed-jacksonville-beach-sex-battery-suspect-until-police-arrived\/848014937\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">arrest<\/a>,\u2062 a journalist \u200btweeted it \u200bwas Grant\u2019s \u200b19th arrest\u2064 in four \u2063years.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">This week\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/JaxBeach?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#JaxBeach<\/a> sex battery\u200b arrest was Antonio Grant\u2019s 19th arrest in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Duval?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Duval<\/a> County in \u200bthe past 4 years. He was\u2063 also arrested on a sexual battery\u200d charge last year after\u2062 a woman accused him of groping her and trying \u200dto pull down her\u2062 pants. The progressive war on our right to bear arms continues, even as the Supreme Court issues rulings \u2062supporting \u200dthat freedom.<\/p>\n<p>For example, \u2063in the 2022 New York \u200dState \u2063Rifle \u2062&#038; Pistol Association Inc.\u200c v. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/breaking-scotus-decision-blows-gaping-hole-gun-control-agenda-massive-win-2nd-amendment-freedom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bruen<\/a> \u200ccase,\u200d the court determined citizens do have\u200d the right to carry firearms \u2063outside\u200d their homes without having a state-determined \u201cproper cause.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gun \u2064laws are often \u2062a more local matter, with blue \u200cstates \u2064known for\u200d more restrictions. New York is one of\u200b the\u2062 worst \u2062states for gun rights. Even after \u2062the Bruen decision, the state government continued \u2062to pass <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-federal-judge-halts-key-parts-new-yorks-new-gun-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">constitutionally questionable laws<\/a> trying to limit access to guns by\u200b law-abiding citizens.<\/p>\n<p>It was an important factor that the\u200d elderly man who held the burglar at gunpoint lived\u2062 in Florida, which has a much \u200cbetter track record\u200d on gun rights.<\/p>\n<p>As Governor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/desantis-lays-law-warns-looters-florida-2nd-amendment-state\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ron \u200bDeSantis<\/a> warned \u200dpotential\u2064 looters in 2022, \u201cI can tell\u2064 you \u2062in the state of Florida, you never know what may\u200d be lurking\u2063 behind somebody\u2019s home. And I would not want to\u2063 chance that if \u200bI were you,\u200b given that we\u2019re a Second\u2064 Amendment\u200d state.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Leftists call for\u200d citizen disarmament, which would leave the law-abiding\u200b vulnerable. \u00a0Gun-control advocates deliberately\u2062 overlook the biggest problem. As a grieving father had to remind anti-gun-nut\u200b Gov. \u2064Gavin Newsom of California, criminals do\u200c not respect <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/newsom-attacks-desantis-gun-bill-father-shooting-victim-gives-awakening-sit-one\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gun-free zones<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Hey Gavin, \u2062my daughter Alaina\u200d was killed\u200c at Parkland and I support permit-less carry in Florida.
