We\u200c have no\u2064 idea how the misunderstanding occurred, but our understanding is there was no misrepresentation,\u201d Salerno \u2064wrote to Noreika on \u200cTuesday, according to the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, a woman identified as Jessica Bengels,\u2064 the <a title=\"Hunter Biden's lawyers may be sanctioned for alleged dirty tactics in his criminal case, according to a report.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-bidens-legal-team-faces-sanctions-accused-of-using-dirty-trick-in-his-criminal-case-report\/\">litigation services director<\/a> for Latham &#038; Watkins, is accused of misrepresenting her employer when she asked \u2064a clerk by phone \u200dto remove the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/identity-gops-irs-whisteblower-x-revealed-hunter-biden-probe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IRS testimony<\/a> and other evidence against Hunter, from\u2063 the court docket, according to \u2063the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n<p>Bengels allegedly called the court and claimed that she \u200dhad worked with Theodore Kittila, an attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wwnytv.com\/2023\/07\/26\/hunter-bidens-guilty-plea-is-horizon-so-are-fresh-set-challenges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">representing<\/a> House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Rep. Jason Smith, a Missouri Republican.<\/p>\n<p>Smith had filed a brief to\u2062 Noreika, arguing that\u2064 she should dismiss\u200c Hunter Biden\u2019s \u201csweetheart\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/dont-fall-bongino-warns-secret-reasoning-behind-hunter-biden-plea-deal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">plea deal<\/a>, which allows him to avoid prison time, \u2063due to allegations of special treatment in his case.<\/p>\n<p>The brief included the \u2062testimony of two IRS whistleblowers, as\u2064 well \u2064as 448 pages of congressional testimony, according to the\u200b Daily Mail.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[A]t approximately 1:30 p.m., we received\u2062 word that our filing was removed from the docket,\u201d Kittila wrote in \u2063a series\u200d of emails obtained by the Daily\u2064 Mail.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe promptly contacted the Clerk\u2019s office, \u2064and we were advised that someone contacted the Court representing that they worked with <em><strong>my office<\/strong><\/em> [emphasis in the original] and that \u200bthey were asking the Court to \u200dremove \u2064this from the docket. We immediately advised that this was inaccurate. The Clerk\u2019s Office responded that we would \u2064need to re-file.
