This is the \u2062right thing to do and the right\u200b time to end it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>From this point forward, select taxpayers will get letters \u2062in \u200dthe mail with the opportunity to meet with an \u200cofficer in \u2064person.<\/p>\n<p>Before conducting door-to-door visits, the IRS routinely sends numerous letters and normally carries two kinds of official identification,\u2064 their \u2062IRS-issued\u200c credentials and an HSPD-12 \u2063card, which is distributed to all federal government employees.<\/p>\n<p>Both IDs \u2063feature serial numbers and photographs of the individual, which \u200dyou may inspect if you suspect the official is a fraud.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cWe are taking a fresh look at how \u2064the IRS operates to better serve taxpayers\u2062 and \u200bthe \u200dnation, and making this change is a\u200b common-sense step,\u201d Werfel said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Stay informed!
