Sherrod Brown \u2062(D-OH), announced the constitutional amendment obtained enough valid signatures to appear on the ballot.<\/p>\n<h3>LaRose&#8217;s Certification and Personal Beliefs<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>LaRose&#8217;s\u200d certification is a part of his official capacity\u2064 as secretary\u200d of state, \u2063and he has said the measure making the\u2063 ballot does not \u2064reflect his personal \u200cbeliefs, which\u200d he describes\u2062 as &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-fox-news-grills-senate-candidate-dr-oz-on-when-life-begins-oz-refuses-to-answer\/\" title=\"WATCH: Fox News Grills Senate Candidate Dr. Oz On When Life Begins, Oz Refuses To Answer\">strongly pro-life<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Gaining over 710,000\u2063 signatures earlier\u200c this month, the \u200bballot measure \u2063only needed 495,938 valid signatures representing 5% of electors in at least\u200b 44 of Ohio&#8217;s 88 counties. A recent poll from\u200b USA Today\u200c showed that 58%\u2063 of Ohio voters support\u2064 the constitutional amendment to prohibit the state from\u200b enacting laws restricting the legality of abortion.<\/p>\n<p>LaRose told the\u200c Washington Examiner \u2062this month that\u2062 it is &#8220;too\u2063 easy\u200b to amend the state constitution,&#8221; adding, &#8220;Activist groups,\u200c out-of-state\u200b groups have figured\u200d out that they can try to make laws by constitutional amendment, which is not how government is supposed\u2062 to\u2062 work.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An ACLU-backed amendment to Ohio&#8217;s constitution, criticized for potentially enabling children to access abortions and sex-change operations, will be on November&#8217;s ballot.
