Ron DeSantis Losing Ground \u200cin GOP Primaries<\/h2>\n<p>Once seen as a formidable contender against former President Donald Trump in the\u2063 GOP primaries, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is\u2062 now\u2064 facing a decline in support among Republican \u2063voters, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ga-gop-sen-david-perdue-in-runoff-battle-with-democrat-jon-ossoff\/\" title=\"Ga. GOP Sen. David Perdue in runoff battle with Democrat Jon Ossoff\">recent polls<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In a recent survey \u200cconducted by Monmouth University, approximately 65% \u200bof GOP voters expressed a favorable view of\u200d DeSantis, marking \u2064a 15-point drop from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/desantis-favorability-ratings-tank-as-his-poll-numbers-falter-fallen-flat\/\" title=\"DeSantis' popularity plummets as poll numbers decline: 'Failed miserably'\">previous poll \u2064conducted<\/a> in February. The\u2064 latest \u2064numbers also reveal that DeSantis \u200dtrails behind Trump, who enjoys a 77% favorable rating \u2063among Republicans. Both candidates, however, share an 18% unfavorable rating.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cDeSantis has not made any headway,\u201d said Patrick Murray, director of the independent Monmouth University Polling Institute. \u201cThe arguments that he\u2019d be a stronger\u2062 candidate and a more effective president than Trump have both fallen flat.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>When \u2062asked\u2063 which\u2064 candidate would be a stronger opponent against President Joe Biden, only 22% \u200cof\u2063 voters believed DeSantis would be \u2064the better choice, while 47% \u2063considered him a weaker candidate. This marks a significant shift from a previous Wall Street Journal poll in April, where 41% of \u200bvoters believed DeSantis had a better \u200dchance of \u200bdefeating Biden in the general election.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of governing, 49% of Republicans believe Trump would be more effective than \u2064DeSantis, compared to\u2063 only 19% who \u200dhold \u200dthe opposite view, according \u2064to the Monmouth poll. Another 30%\u200c believe both candidates would be equally effective.<\/p>\n<p>The latest numbers come as DeSantis embarks on a campaign reset, aiming to narrow the gap between him and Trump \u2062before\u2064 the primary\u200b elections next year.\u200c The Florida governor has already begun downsizing \u2064his\u2062 staff after\u200d facing financial\u200c struggles in the \u200bthird quarter of the year, as indicated by fundraising \u200creports.<\/p>\n<p>Trump continues to maintain a significant lead of at least 30 points \u2064in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/heartland-americans-pan-bidens-afghanistan-withdrawal\/\" title=\"Heartland Americans Pan Biden\u2019s Afghanistan Withdrawal\">national polling<\/a>, with DeSantis consistently ranking as the runner-up \u200cin various \u2063surveys.
