The complaint was\u2063 filed on Monday.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>On June 5, the second to last day\u2062 of the school year, all orchestra students at Northstar Middle School were gathered in \u200dthe orchestra\u200d room. Present were \u2063orchestra \u2062teacher Jacob Puccio, a school counselor, and the \u200cdistrict&#8217;s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) director, Dang Yang.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>During this gathering, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/utah-school-allows-parents-to-opt-out-of-black-history-month-curriculum-reverses-course\/\" title=\"Utah School Allows Parents To Opt Out Of Black History Month Curriculum, Reverses Course\">middle school students<\/a> were informed that Puccio, their orchestra teacher, would\u200c be undergoing a\u200b gender \u200btransition \u200bfrom \u2062male to female, according \u2063to the\u2062 lawsuit. Additionally, \u200dmusic students\u2064 at three elementary schools\u2063 and one high school \u200cin the district were allegedly read a scripted statement \u200dabout \u200dthe\u200b teacher&#8217;s gender transition.<\/p>\n<p>Buchman, who has children in\u200d both the middle school orchestra and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gov-hochul-institutes-mask-mandate-in-n-y\/\" title=\"Gov. Hochul institutes mask mandate in N.Y.\">high school band<\/a>, \u200dinitially \u2064requested a copy of the scripted statement but \u2063was\u200c denied. As a \u200cparent, it&#8217;s my\u200b responsibility to help my kids understand \u200dall that life throws their way, and I do not understand why it has taken\u200b the school \u200cdistrict so long to update parents,&#8221;\u2062 Buchman stated.<\/p>\n<p>WILL attorney Cory Brewer \u2063expressed frustration with\u2064 the district&#8217;s refusal to release the statement, saying, &#8220;It&#8217;s ridiculous for a\u200c school district to refuse\u2062 to\u2063 produce a statement that was read out loud to dozens of\u2062 minor students \u200cin several district classrooms. \u2062What was told to these kids should\u200b be readily accessible to parents.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Both\u200c Buchman\u200d and her attorneys have been \u2062denied access to the\u200d scripted statement under Wisconsin&#8217;s open records law. WILL criticized the district \u2063for potentially\u2064 stalling the release of information\u200d to parents, \u200bas the investigation into the incident has not\u2064 yet begun \u2062despite it \u200doccurring\u200b over a month ago.<\/p>\n<p>Last year,\u200b the Eau\u2063 Claire school district faced backlash for instructing \u200bteachers to conceal their students&#8217; gender identity transitions from\u200d parents during a staff training.\u2062 A slide from the presentation\u200b stated, \u2063&#8221;Parents are not entitled\u200b to know \u200dtheir kids&#8217; identities.
