In the past\u200c year alone, Hirsh Naftali \u200dhas reportedly given $29,700 to the Democratic National Campaign Committee and $13,414 to Joe Biden&#8217;s\u200c campaign. A \u2063fundraiser she put on\u2062 last year was \u2062headlined by none other than\u2063 Vice President Kamala Harris.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, the White \u200bHouse rolled out a\u200c game plan in July 2021 that sought to allow Hunter to sell his works &#8220;without \u200chim, or anyone in\u2064 the \u200cadministration, knowing who bought them.&#8221; According to the Times, the arrangement would allow New York\u200b City art\u200d gallerist Georges \u200cBerg\u00e8s to sell the paintings\u2064 without disclosing any information about the buyers or \u200dprices \u200bof Hunter \u2063Biden&#8217;s\u200b work to anyone, including\u2063 Hunter himself.<\/p>\n<p>According to Insider, however, Hunter did\u200b learn the identity of\u2064 two of his buyers, one of whom was Hirsh Naftali.<\/p>\n<p>While Insider was \u200bunable \u2063to verify exactly \u200cwhen Hirsh Naftali purchased Hunter&#8217;s \u2063painting, the outlet did discover that she had been appointed \u200cby President Joe Biden \u2062to serve on the Commission for the\u2063 Preservation of\u2064 America&#8217;s Heritage \u200bAbroad in July 2022. According to Insider, &#8220;membership on the commission is an unpaid position that is\u2063 often filled\u200b by campaign donors, family members, and political allies\u2063 \u2014 the same crowd \u200cthat\u200b often winds up with US ambassadorial appointments.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Hirsh \u200cNaftali&#8217;s appointment occurred eight months\u200d after Hunter&#8217;s art\u2063 first \u2062went on display.<\/p>\n<p>When pressed on the matter, an administration official denied there \u200bwas any \u200cconnection between \u2062Hirsh Naftali&#8217;s art \u2063purchases and her appointment, \u200cfurther claiming it was former House\u2062 Speaker Nancy Pelosi\u200d who recommended Hirsh Naftali \u2062to the president.\u2062 The White House did not, however, clarify whether Hirsh Naftali purchased \u2062Hunter&#8217;s artwork before or after her appointment to the commission.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Hunter Biden is a private citizen who \u200dis entitled to have his own career as an artist,&#8221; White House spokesman Ian\u2063 Sams\u2063 asserted.\u200c &#8220;We are\u200d not involved in his art sales,\u200b and\u200b any buyers of \u2062his art are not\u2064 disclosed to the\u2063 White House.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden&#8217;s counsel, Abbe Lowell, separately claimed Hunter only &#8220;learned the identities\u2062 of Hirsh Naftali and a \u200csecond buyer after they had purchased his art through his gallery, because\u200b they\u2062 were \u200chis friends.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s worth noting\u200b that Hunter has\u2063 indicated before that he could use his influence to\u2062 have confidants \u2062appointed to the Commission for the Preservation\u200d of America&#8217;s Heritage \u2062Abroad. In 2015, for instance, President Barack Obama appointed \u200bEric Schwerin \u2014\u200d a &#8220;longtime business associate&#8221; of Hunter&#8217;s \u2014 to the commission.
