However, no\u200c public \u200dreason\u200c has been provided for his\u2063 removal.<\/p>\n<h3>Wang Yi Assumes \u2063Old Position as Top Diplomat<\/h3>\n<p>Wang\u200c Yi, who\u200b previously \u200dheld the position of foreign minister\u2063 from 2013\u200b through \u20642022, will now\u200b assume his old role.\u2063 Before being named as the replacement, he served as \u2062the director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/chinas-foreign-minister-ousted-after-mysterious-monthlong-absence\/\" title=\"China's foreign minister removed following unexplained monthlong absence.\">foreign \u2064affairs arm<\/a> of the ruling Communist Party, making\u200c him China&#8217;s top diplomat.<\/p>\n<p>Qin&#8217;s absence \u2062from public view began\u200c on June 25, following \u2062talks\u200d with counterparts from Russia, Vietnam, and Sri\u200c Lanka. His last appearance\u2063 in state media coincided with his meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey\u200c Rudenko, who visited Beijing shortly after \u200dthe\u2064 Wagner mercenary group&#8217;s attempted\u200b mutiny.<\/p>\n<p>Beijing \u200bhas remained tight-lipped \u200dabout Qin&#8217;s status, even after he\u2063 missed a meeting with Secretary of State Antony Blinken on the sidelines of the\u2062 ASEAN \u200bsummit in Indonesia earlier this month.
