Republican lawmakers\u200c have criticized the\u200d leniency\u200c of the\u200c deal, prompting\u200c Rep. Jim Jordan \u200b(R-OH) \u2062to request Weiss&#8217; testimony before Congress.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Department of \u200cJustice appreciates the Committee on the Judiciary&#8217;s acceptance of our offer for U.S. Attorney Weiss to testify at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pennsylvania-state-senate-plans-meeting-to-air-complaints-of-voter-fraud\/\" title=\"Pennsylvania State Senate Plans Meeting to Air Complaints of Voter Fraud\">public hearing<\/a>,&#8221; wrote Assistant Attorney General Carlos Felipe Uriarte\u200b in a letter to Jordan.<\/p>\n<p>Potential \u2063dates for the testimony\u2063 have been proposed for September 27 or 28, and October \u206418\u2063 or \u200d19.<\/p>\n<p>The \u200bDepartment of\u200d Justice expressed concerns about misunderstandings regarding\u200b their work and hopes\u200c that Weiss&#8217; testimony will address those concerns. \u2063&#8221;We are deeply concerned by \u2064any misrepresentations about our work that could \u2062<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/doj-vows-weiss-will-publicly-testify-to-counter-any-misrepresentations-about-our-work\/\" title=\"DOJ assures Weiss will testify openly to refute 'any misinterpretations of our efforts'.\">harm public confidence<\/a> in the\u2063 evenhanded administration of justice,&#8221; added Uriarte.<\/p>\n<p>Weiss has faced \u2063criticism from IRS whistleblowers who claim \u2064that he has \u200dnot been consistent in his handling of the investigation into Hunter Biden. \u2062One whistleblower, Joseph Ziegler,\u200b disputes Weiss&#8217; statements and\u2062 believes that Hunter should face more serious charges.<\/p>\n<p>The second whistleblower, IRS supervisory special agent \u200bGary Shapley, has raised concerns about the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-prosecutor-will-be-allowed-to-testify-before-congress-after-republicans-slam-plea-deal\/\" title=\"Hunter Biden prosecutor to testify before Congress following Republican criticism of plea deal.\">unclear \u2063charging authority<\/a> in the investigation. &#8220;The story has been changing from the Department of Justice \u2062and U.S. Attorney Weiss,&#8221; said Shapley during his testimony before Congress.<\/p>\n<p>During the whistleblowers&#8217; testimony, Rep.
