The $6,600 ($3,300 each) political donation from Murray and Lee Kushner is likely to\u2062 add fuel to an epic family fight that&#8217;s involved fraud allegations,\u2063 tax evasion, \u2063and a\u200d twisted revenge plot \u200bthat landed Kushner&#8217;s father, Charles,\u2064 in prison for \u200b14 months.<\/p>\n<h3>A Scandalous Scheme<\/h3>\n<p>Christie, a former U.S. attorney, prosecuted Charles \u2062Kushner over his involvement in a scandalous scheme\u2064 that he called &#8220;one of the most loathsome, disgusting\u2064 crimes&#8221; he had \u2064ever prosecuted.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cMr. Kushner pled guilty. He\u200c admitted the crimes,\u201d Christie told PBS \u2063last year. \u201cSo what am I supposed to \u200ddo as a prosecutor? I mean, if \u2063a guy hires a prostitute to seduce his brother-in-law, and videotapes it, and then sends the videotape to his sister to attempt to intimidate her from testifying before a grand jury, do I really need any more justification than that?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Charles Kushner pleaded guilty in 2004 to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/kushner-relatives-max-out-donations-to-chris-christies-presidential-campaign\/\" title=\"Kushner family donates generously to Chris Christie's campaign.\">18 counts including tax evasion<\/a> and witness tampering. He also admitted to hiring a prostitute to seduce his brother-in-law and then sending the video to his sister. He was sentenced\u2064 in 2005 to two\u200b years in prison \u200b\u2014 \u200bthe most he could get under his \u2062plea deal. He\u200c served 14 months at a federal prison camp\u2063 in Alabama before being sent to a halfway\u2062 house in New Jersey\u2062 to\u2062 complete his sentence.<\/p>\n<p>Charles Kushner&#8217;s relationship\u200c with his siblings has been fractured ever \u200csince.<\/p>\n<h3>A Surprising Donation<\/h3>\n<p>Micah Rasmussen, director of the Rebovich Institute for New Jersey \u2062Politics at\u200b Rider University, told Politico\u200c he\u200b was surprised\u200d by the\u200c donation to \u200cChristie&#8217;s campaign.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cGiven\u2064 the family connections to the Trump White House, it is really just unbelievable,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Former President Donald Trump tapped Christie to lead his 2016 \u200cWhite House transition team but reversed course after his \u200bson-in-law \u200callegedly intervened. Christie \u2063called the move a retaliatory &#8220;hit job&#8221; in \u2063his 2019 book, &#8220;Let Me Finish: Trump, the Kushners, Bannon, New Jersey, and the Power of In-Your-Face Politics.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Trump pardoned Charles Kushner in December 2020. The state has embraced its &#8220;first in the\u200d nation&#8221; \u200bstatus \u2063for a\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gov-christie-says-democrats-are-deeply-underwater-with-independent-voters\/\" title=\"Gov.
