The letter said if Texas failed \u200cto dismantle the structure, a lawsuit would follow.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We write to inform you \u2026 that the United States intends to \u200dfile [a] legal action in relation to the State of Texas\u2019s \u2064unlawful \u2064construction of a floating barrier in the Rio \u200dGrande River,&#8221; the letter\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/politics-news\/justice-department-threatens-sue-texas-migrant-buoys-rcna95620\">read<\/a>, pointing to &#8220;humanitarian concerns,&#8221; &#8220;risks to public safety and the environment,&#8221; and potential interference against federal government duties as the reasons \u200cfor the suit.<\/p>\n<p>The buoys, which are anchored to the riverbed, are <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/texas-rolls-out-giant-nets-to-stop-migrants-crossing-rio-grande\/\">set<\/a> to cover 1,000 feet of the river near Eagle Pass, an area where \u200dBorder Patrol agents <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/texas-rolls-out-giant-nets-to-stop-migrants-crossing-rio-grande\/\">reported<\/a> the second<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/texas-rolls-out-giant-nets-to-stop-migrants-crossing-rio-grande\/\" title=\"Texas deploys massive nets to halt migrants crossing Rio Grande.\">-highest migrant crossing numbers<\/a> this year.
