This bold move has put the Lone Star State\u200b at odds with the federal\u2062 government.<\/p>\n<p>A recent letter from the\u200d Department of Justice (DOJ) addressed to Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Angela Colmenero, the \u200dstate&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/texas-governor-appoints-john-scott-as-interim-attorney-general-after-impeachment-of-ken-paxton\/\" title=\"John Scott appointed as interim Attorney General of Texas after Ken Paxton's impeachment.\">interim attorney general<\/a>, accuses Texas of \u2062violating federal\u200d law and endangering the public and \u2062environment with the construction of barriers along the border.<\/p>\n<p>The barriers in question are part \u200bof a floating buoy system \u200cthat Texas\u200c officials began installing on July 7. The DOJ argues \u200dthat the \u2063barriers \u200bobstruct \u200dnavigation, pose \u2063risks to \u200cpublic safety and the environment, and interfere with\u2064 the federal government&#8217;s duties.<\/p>\n<p>Citing\u200b the Rivers and Harbors Act, \u200cthe DOJ demands the immediate \u200bremoval\u200c of\u200b the \u2064barriers to restore the navigability of the waterway.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the threat of \u200blegal \u200daction, Governor Abbott remains steadfast in his commitment to defend \u200dTexas&#8217; border. He\u200c asserts that Texas has the sovereign authority to protect \u200dits \u200dborder under the U.S. Constitution \u2064and the Texas Constitution, and has \u2064previously\u200d communicated this authority to the Biden Administration.<\/p>\n<p>Abbott blames President Biden&#8217;s refusal \u200bto secure the border \u200bfor \u2063the \u2064humanitarian \u2062crisis and encourages migrants \u200dto cross illegally \u200bthrough\u200b the Rio Grande instead of using legal means of entry.<\/p>\n<p>While the White House&#8217;s efforts to address the\u200d border crisis have been largely ineffective, \u200dTexas has taken the lead in defending its people and land. \u2062Border communities and even areas further inland are bearing the burden of this \u200bcrisis, with little \u200boutside assistance.<\/p>\n<p>The practice of shuffling\u2063 immigrants around the country, \u2062favored by the White House, is causing problems in areas that were previously unaffected by the\u200b border crisis.
