In his decision, U.S. \u200bDistrict Judge John J. \u200cTuchi declared the law unconstitutional, citing a violation\u2062 of citizens&#8217; First Amendment rights.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;The law prohibits or chills a substantial amount of\u2062 First \u2063Amendment protected activity and is unnecessary to prevent\u2063 interference with police \u200bofficers given other Arizona \u200dlaws in effect,&#8221; Tuchi \u200cstated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Judge Tuchi \u200chad previously issued a temporary injunction to halt the law&#8217;s implementation, and\u200c now\u2064 his latest order \u2062permanently prevents\u200d its\u200b enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit challenging the law was filed by lawyers from the Associated Press and the \u2062ACLU. Mayor Amid Potential Unrest After Chauvin Verdict\">law enforcement activity<\/a> if an officer requested\u200c the person to stop filming.\u2064 It also required individuals\u200d filming on public property to cease if\u200b authorities deemed the area unsafe or if the person was interfering.<\/p>\n<p>Despite its passage, the law faced opposition from top law \u2064enforcement \u200cofficials across the state.
