discovery of cocaine at the\u200d White House \u2062rates\u200b as unusual but hardly unprecedented.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, stories of \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-truth-about-mass-shootings-in-america\/\" title=\"The Truth About Mass Shootings in America\">drug-related incidents<\/a> at \u201cthe People\u2019s House\u201d date to \u2062the \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cocaine-fiasco-was-far-from-first-white-house-drug-story-there-have-been-many\/\" title=\"White House <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pathetic-wapo-covers-for-biden-by-publishing-story-saying-cocaine-in-wh-goes-all-the-way-back-to-fdr\/\" title=\"WaPo defends Biden, claims cocaine in WH dates back to FDR.\">drug stories<\/a> are not new; cocaine fiasco is just one example.&#8221;>early \u206220th century<\/a>, though the tales\u200b have grown \u200btaller and more common\u2064 in recent years.<\/p>\n<h3>Early Incidents<\/h3>\n<p>Gillian Brockell of The Washington Post\u2019s history blog, Retropolis, \u2063recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/history\/2023\/07\/06\/white-house-cocaine-jfk-willie-nelson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">compiled several such stories<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The earliest White House drug\u200d incident might have occurred on a day of \u2064infamy.<\/p>\n<p>History\u200c professor Steve\u2064 Gillon, author of \u201cPearl Harbor: FDR Leads \u200bthe Nation \u200binto War,\u201d said\u200d he \u2063discovered during his research that on the evening of\u2062 Dec.\u2062 7, 1941, less\u2063 than 12 hours\u2062 after Japanese \u200dforces attacked Pearl Harbor, President\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/wh-press-sec-reminded-1-glaring-problem-oval-office-biden-denounces-fdr-shameful\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Franklin D.\u200d Roosevelt<\/a> probably used cocaine.<\/p>\n<p>In a 2012 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffpost.com\/entry\/was-fdr-given-cocaine_b_1179791\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HuffPost<\/a> report, Gillon described the evidence for Roosevelt\u2019s cocaine usage as \u201ccircumstantial,\u201d but \u200cthe writer\u2019s inferences are plausible.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, \u200cFDR\u2019s cocaine usage would\u200c not have struck his contemporaries as scandalous.<\/p>\n<p>White House records for Dec. 7, 1941, show \u200bthat the president\u200d spent part\u200b of that evening with Dr.\u2063 Ross McIntyre, a prominent ear, nose, and throat\u2062 specialist who had treated him \u200dsince 1937.<\/p>\n<p>The records also show that Roosevelt suffered from a sinus infection.<\/p>\n<p>When Gillon reached\u2064 out to\u200b modern ENT specialists, he learned \u200cthat in the \u200c1930s and 1940s, physicians often \u200ctreated sinus infections \u200dwith small doses of \u2064diluted cocaine \u2062solution.<\/p>\n<h3>Other Incidents<\/h3>\n<p>Other White House drug\u200c stories involve usage of a \u200bless therapeutic \u200cnature.<\/p>\n<p>In 1980, country singer\u200d Willie Nelson \u2064smoked marijuana\u200c on the White House roof with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/jimmy-carters-grandson-provides-update-grandfather-hospice-care-months\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">President \u200bJimmy \u2063Carter\u2019s<\/a> \u200b son, James \u2064Earl \u201cChip\u201d Carter III.<\/p>\n<p>Gary McClain,\u2064 point \u2063guard\u2063 on\u2062 the 1985 NCAA men\u2019s basketball national champion Villanova Wildcats,\u200d recalled \u200cthat\u200c he was \u201cwired\u201d \u200con cocaine during the team\u2019s White House visit.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, some White House drug stories\u200c should\u2062 be taken with a grain of salt.<\/p>\n<p>Erkan Mustafa, a\u200c British \u2064teen actor from the \u200c1980s, once claimed\u2062 to have\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-bible-cannabis-and-you\/\" title=\"The Bible, Cannabis, And You\">smoked pot<\/a> at the White House\u2064 but \u2064later admitted that\u200b he invented the story.<\/p>\n<p>Snoop Dogg claimed to have \u200csmoked\u2063 weed in the White House bathroom, but Brockell noted that\u2062 the rapper \u201cappears to have been high while telling \u2063the story, and it doesn\u2019t exactly\u2063 track.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Unusual \u2062Events<\/h3>\n<p>Then again, strange things have happened at \u2064the White House.<\/p>\n<p>In 1802, a group of grateful Massachusetts \u2064Baptists presented \u200ba <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monticello.org\/research-education\/thomas-jefferson-encyclopedia\/mammoth-cheese\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1,230-pound<\/a> \u201cMammoth Cheese\u201d to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/history-left-erased-founding-fathers-helped-obliterate-slavery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">President Thomas Jefferson<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In 1912, \u200ba\u200c knife-wielding <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/1912\/04\/14\/archives\/intruder-in-white-house-is-arrested-after-forcing-his-way-in-to-see.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">intruder<\/a>, determined to see \u2063President \u2064William Howard\u2063 Taft, broke through the front \u200cdoor of the\u2062 White House twice in \u2063the same day.<\/p>\n<p>During World War II, on separate visits\u200d to the White House, both British Prime Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/op-ed-trump-gives-voice-spirit-winston-churchill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Winston\u200c Churchill<\/a> and Queen Wilhelmina \u200bof the Netherlands claimed\u200c to have encountered Abraham <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehousehistory.org\/press-room\/press-backgrounders\/white-house-ghost-stories\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lincoln\u2019s ghost<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Drug stories, it seems, are only a \u2062part of that building\u2019s \u200dlong and colorful history.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200c post <a rel=\"nofollow\"
