Generally speaking, a 70 percent to 85 percent reduction in hospitalizations and\u200b deaths. It\u200b was really a \u2064miracle\u200d drug,\u201d Kennedy told\u200c The Hill\u2019s online program \u201cRising\u201d on Friday.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Countries that used <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/dana-white-levels-woke-reporter-tries-mock-ufc-execs-support-ivermectin-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ivermectin<\/a> widely to treat bodily parasites had that added\u200b benefit \u2064of low COVID death rates, \u200dthe \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-rfk-jr-takes-leftists-to-school-over-miracle-drug-that-he-says-helped-stop-covid\/\" title=\"RFK Jr. educates leftists on COVID's 'miracle drug'\">presidential candidate\u200d contended<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy offered Nigeria as an example, \u201cwhich has the highest river\u2062 blindness burden\u2063 in\u2063 the\u2064 world,\u201d but also had \u201cthe lowest COVID death rate in the \u200bworld.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey also \u2064have the biggest malaria\u200c burden so virtually the entire population is\u200d on hydroxychloroquine and a large\u200d part \u2063of \u2062the \u2063population is on Ivermectin\u200b for the river \u200bblindness,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd \u2064they had almost \u200dno vaccination, something like 1.3 percent vaccination, so they\u200c did very\u200c well,\u201d Kennedy added.<\/p>\n<h3>Examining Kennedy&#8217;s Claims<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/robert-f-kennedy-jr-good-bad-ugly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RFK Jr.<\/a> said that Nigeria \u2062had the lowest death rate in the world.<\/p>\n<p>According to\u200d the Johns Hopkins University of Medicine <a href=\"https:\/\/coronavirus.jhu.edu\/data\/mortality\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tracker<\/a>, Nigeria is near the\u2063 very bottom of COVID\u200d death rates in the\u200d world at 1.53 fatalities per \u2063100,000 of its population.<\/p>\n<p>That figure\u200d is closely tracked by the fellow central African nation of Sierra Leone at 1.58 deaths per 100,000.<\/p>\n<p>By comparison, the death\u200b rate \u200bin the U.S. was about 341 deaths\u2064 per\u200c 100,000, which is obviously much higher than these African countries.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/03\/23\/health\/covid-africa-deaths.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Times<\/a> reporter \u200bStephanie Nolen noted in a March 2022 piece\u2062 that it is a\u200d \u201cmystery\u201d\u2063 why many nations in Africa, including Sierra Leone, had \u2062such <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/13-players-on-portuguese-soccer-team-positive-for-omicron-variant-after-africa-trip\/\" title=\"13 Players on Portuguese Soccer Team Positive for Omicron Variant After Africa Trip\">low death rates<\/a> coupled with low vaccination rates.<\/p>\n<p>She pointed out that about two-thirds of the population in sub-Saharan \u2062countries have the antibodies, so they have had COVID. In Sierra Leone, 78 percent of the people had the antibodies.<\/p>\n<p>Nolen recounted that some researchers have \u2062speculated the overall youth of the population or\u2063 the climate reason as potential reasons for the low death rates, but\u200c that does not explain why India and\u2062 nations in\u2064 Asia with similar climates \u200dand age demographics\u2064 had much higher death rates than many in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The median\u200c age in Africa is \u206419 years versus 38 in \u200bthe U.S. and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldometers.info\/world-population\/india-population\/#:~:text=India%20ranks%20number%201%20in,1%2C244%20people%20per%20mi2).&#038;text=The%20median%20age%20in%20India%20is%2028.2%20years.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">28<\/a> in \u200dIndia.<\/p>\n<p>Another explanation\u200b some \u200chave offered\u200b for the \u2063low death \u200brate is that African \u2064countries simply\u200b did not \u200dkeep records of the \u2062deaths, but Nolen wrote that scientists\u2063 tracking the pandemic\u200d on the ground do not believe hundreds of thousands or millions of deaths could \u2064have gone \u2062unnoticed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have not seen massive burials in Africa. If that had happened, we\u2019d \u2063have seen it,\u201d said Dr. Thierno Bald\u00e9, who runs the \u200cWorld Health Organization\u2019s\u200c COVID-19 emergency response in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA \u2064death in Africa never goes unrecorded, as\u2064 much as\u2062 we are poor at record-keeping,\u201d said Dr. Abdhalah Ziraba, an epidemiologist at the African Population and Health Research Center in Nairobi, Kenya. \u201cThere is \u2062a \u2062funeral, \u200dan announcement: A burial is never done within \u200da week because it is a big event.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy mentioned the differences in the number \u2064of\u2062 deaths even between certain states in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/india-makes-huge-announcement-national-covid-treatment-protocol\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">India<\/a> like Uttar\u2064 Pradesh versus \u2064Kerala.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/cities\/lucknow\/uttar-pradesh-government-says-ivermectin-helped-to-keep-deaths-low-7311786\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">India Express<\/a> reported in \u200cMay 2021 that the Uttar Pradesh government introduced large-scale use of Ivermectin as a \u200c\u201cprophylactic and\u200b therapeutic\u201d \u200cand that it helped the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-rfk-jr-takes-leftists-to-school-over-miracle-drug-that-he-says-helped-stop-covid-2\/\" title=\"RFK Jr. educates leftists on COVID's 'miracle drug'\">state maintain\u200b lower fatality<\/a> and positivity rates \u200bcompared to other states.<\/p>\n<p>Whereas Kerala \u2014 which \u200cused the U.S. COVID-19 \u200dtreatment protocol as RFK highlighted \u2063\u2014 experienced the most COVID cases and deaths in the country, <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/city\/kochi\/state-reports-max-covid-cases-deaths-in-country\/articleshow\/99228706.cms?from=mdr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Times of India<\/a> reported in April 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy cited Yale University professor of epidemiology Dr. \u2063Harvey \u2064Risch\u2063 to further bolster his case that Ivermectin is\u200c effective against \u2064COVID.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. \u2063Risch told Fox News contributor Lisa \u2064Boothe in October 2022, \u201cHydroxychloroquine, ivermectin, and others do work\u2026very well for keeping people out of the hospital and \u200dfor keeping people\u2062 from dying from COVID.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Dr. Harvey Risch: \u201cHydroxychloroquine, ivermectin, and others do work\u2026very \u2063well for keeping people out of the\u2062 hospital and for \u2064keeping people from dying \u2064from\u200c COVID\u2026suppressed at all \u2062counts by economic\u200d interests\u2026the media was completely complicit.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/G8mbgZqc1w\">https:\/\/t.co\/G8mbgZqc1w<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/MMydLN7PYK\">pic.twitter.com\/MMydLN7PYK<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Lisa Boothe  (@LisaMarieBoothe) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LisaMarieBoothe\/status\/1577644845866356738?\">October 5, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>RFK Jr. said that there are nearly 100 studies on\u2063 the benefits of\u200d Ivermectin in\u200b treating COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>One <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cureus.com\/articles\/111851-regular-use-of-ivermectin-as-prophylaxis-for-covid-19-led-up-to-a-92-reduction-in-covid-19-mortality-rate-in-a-dose-response-manner-results-of-a-prospective-observational-study-of-a-strictly-controlled-population-of-88012-subjects#!\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published in 2022<\/a>, which was conducted in Brazil with over 88,000 subjects, found a 92 percent\u200c reduction in COVID-19 \u200dmortality among those taking Ivermectin.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy conceded there are <a href=\"https:\/\/jamanetwork.com\/journals\/jama\/fullarticle\/2801827\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">studies<\/a> that have reached\u200c the conclusion that \u200cusing Ivermectin had no effect in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nejm.org\/doi\/full\/10.1056\/NEJMc2207995\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">treating<\/a> COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/consumers\/consumer-updates\/why-you-should-not-use-ivermectin-treat-or-prevent-covid-19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Food and Drug Administration<\/a> recommends against Ivermectin being used to treat or prevent the sickness.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy concluded, \u201cThere are a handful \u200cof studies that are government produced, WHO produced, financed by Bill Gates, that say there was no benefit, but those studies have a lot of problems.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s hard \u2063to deny that \u2063the Democratic candidate put some persuasive information on the table.<\/p>\n<p>Why the\u200c federal\u200c government felt compelled to weigh in so heavily against Ivermectin\u200d is a \u2064mystery \u2014 for now. Perhaps \u200cthe government was driven by\u2062 economic interests.
