Generally speaking,\u2064 a 70 percent to 85 \u200dpercent reduction in\u200d hospitalizations and deaths. It was really a miracle drug,\u201d\u2064 Kennedy told The Hill\u2019s online \u200dprogram \u201cRising\u201d on Friday.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Countries that used <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/dana-white-levels-woke-reporter-tries-mock-ufc-execs-support-ivermectin-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ivermectin<\/a> widely to\u2062 treat bodily parasites had that added benefit of low COVID death\u200c rates, the presidential candidate\u200c contended.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy offered Nigeria as an example, \u201cwhich has the highest \u2064river blindness\u200d burden in the world,\u201d but also had \u201cthe lowest COVID death rate in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey also have the biggest malaria burden so virtually \u2063the entire population is \u200don hydroxychloroquine and a large part of the population is on Ivermectin \u2064for \u2064the river blindness,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd they \u2064had \u2063almost no vaccination, something like 1.3 percent vaccination, so they did very well,\u201d Kennedy \u200cadded.<\/p>\n<h3>Examining Kennedy&#8217;s Claims<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/robert-f-kennedy-jr-good-bad-ugly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RFK Jr.<\/a> \u200dsaid that Nigeria had the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/during-pandemic-states-controlled-by-democrats-lost-double-the-jobs-republican-states-lost-report\/\" title=\"During Pandemic, States Controlled By Democrats Lost Double The Jobs Republican States Lost: Report\">lowest death rate<\/a> in the world.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Johns Hopkins \u2064University \u2062of Medicine <a href=\"https:\/\/coronavirus.jhu.edu\/data\/mortality\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tracker<\/a>, Nigeria is near the very bottom of COVID\u2062 death rates in the world at 1.53 fatalities per 100,000 of its population.<\/p>\n<p>That figure is closely tracked\u2062 by \u200dthe fellow central \u200bAfrican nation of Sierra Leone at 1.58 deaths per 100,000.<\/p>\n<p>By comparison,\u2064 the death rate in the U.S. was about 341 deaths per 100,000, which is obviously much higher than these African countries.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/03\/23\/health\/covid-africa-deaths.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Times<\/a> reporter Stephanie Nolen \u2062noted in a March 2022 piece that it is a \u201cmystery\u201d why many nations in Africa, including Sierra Leone, had such <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/13-players-on-portuguese-soccer-team-positive-for-omicron-variant-after-africa-trip\/\" title=\"13 Players on Portuguese Soccer Team Positive for Omicron Variant After Africa Trip\">low death rates<\/a> coupled\u2062 with low vaccination rates.<\/p>\n<p>She pointed out that about two-thirds \u2063of the population in sub-Saharan countries have the\u200d antibodies, so they have had COVID. In Sierra Leone,\u200d 78 percent of the people had the antibodies.<\/p>\n<p>Nolen recounted that some researchers have speculated the \u2064overall youth of\u200d the population \u200cor the climate reason as potential reasons for the low death rates, but \u2063that does not explain why India and nations in Asia with\u2064 similar climates and age demographics \u200bhad much higher death rates \u2064than many in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The median age in Africa is 19 years versus\u2064 38 in the U.S. and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldometers.info\/world-population\/india-population\/#:~:text=India%20ranks%20number%201%20in,1%2C244%20people%20per%20mi2).&#038;text=The%20median%20age%20in%20India%20is%2028.2%20years.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">28<\/a> in India.<\/p>\n<p>Another explanation some have\u2064 offered for \u200bthe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/study-coronavirus-may-have-killed-3-million-in-india-six-times-more-than-official-tally\/\" title=\"Study: Coronavirus May Have Killed 3 Million in India, Six Times More than Official Tally\">low death rate<\/a> is that African countries simply did not keep records \u200dof the deaths, but Nolen wrote that scientists tracking\u2064 the pandemic on the ground do not believe hundreds of thousands or millions of deaths could have gone unnoticed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have not seen\u2062 massive burials in Africa. If that had happened, we\u2019d have seen it,\u201d said Dr.\u200d Thierno Bald\u00e9, who runs the World Health Organization\u2019s COVID-19 \u2062emergency response in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA death in Africa never \u2064goes unrecorded, as much as we are poor at record-keeping,\u201d\u200c said Dr. Abdhalah Ziraba, an epidemiologist\u200d at the African Population and Health Research Center in Nairobi, Kenya. \u201cThere is a funeral, an announcement: A burial is never\u200c done within a week because \u2062it is a big event.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy mentioned the differences in the number of deaths even between certain states in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/india-makes-huge-announcement-national-covid-treatment-protocol\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">India<\/a> like Uttar Pradesh versus Kerala.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/cities\/lucknow\/uttar-pradesh-government-says-ivermectin-helped-to-keep-deaths-low-7311786\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">India Express<\/a> reported in May 2021 that the Uttar Pradesh government introduced large-scale use of Ivermectin as a \u201cprophylactic and therapeutic\u201d and that it\u2064 helped the \u200b<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-rfk-jr-takes-leftists-to-school-over-miracle-drug-that-he-says-helped-stop-covid\/\" title=\"RFK Jr. educates leftists on COVID's 'miracle drug'\">state maintain lower fatality<\/a> and positivity \u200crates compared to other states.<\/p>\n<p>Whereas Kerala \u2014 which used the U.S. COVID-19 treatment \u2064protocol as RFK highlighted \u2014 \u2062experienced the most COVID cases and deaths in \u200dthe country, <a India<\/a> reported in \u2064April 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy cited Yale University professor of epidemiology Dr. Harvey Risch \u2063to further bolster his case that \u200dIvermectin is effective against COVID.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Risch told Fox News contributor Lisa Boothe in October 2022, \u201cHydroxychloroquine, \u200divermectin, and others\u2062 do work\u2026very\u2064 well for keeping people out of the studies on the\u200d benefits of \u2064Ivermectin in treating \u2063COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>One <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cureus.com\/articles\/111851-regular-use-of-ivermectin-as-prophylaxis-for-covid-19-led-up-to-a-92-reduction-in-covid-19-mortality-rate-in-a-dose-response-manner-results-of-a-prospective-observational-study-of-a-strictly-controlled-population-of-88012-subjects#!\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published in 2022<\/a>, which was conducted in Brazil with over 88,000 subjects, found \u200da 92 percent reduction in COVID-19 \u200cmortality among\u2064 those taking Ivermectin.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy conceded there are <a href=\"https:\/\/jamanetwork.com\/journals\/jama\/fullarticle\/2801827\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">studies<\/a> \u2062 that have reached the conclusion that using Ivermectin had no effect in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nejm.org\/doi\/full\/10.1056\/NEJMc2207995\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">treating<\/a> COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/consumers\/consumer-updates\/why-you-should-not-use-ivermectin-treat-or-prevent-covid-19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Food \u2062and Drug Administration<\/a> recommends against Ivermectin being used \u2063to\u2062 treat or \u200dprevent the sickness.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy concluded, \u201cThere are a handful of studies that are government produced, WHO produced, financed by Bill \u200dGates, that say there was no\u2062 benefit, but those studies have a lot of problems.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s\u200c hard to deny that the Democratic candidate put \u200dsome persuasive information on the table.<\/p>\n<p>Why the federal government felt compelled to weigh \u2064in so heavily against Ivermectin is a mystery \u2014 for now. \u200bPerhaps the government was driven by economic interests.\u200d Perhaps it was driven by genuine ignorance.<\/p>\n<p>Regardless, Americans\u200b deserve to know the uncensored \u200btruth, and
