These barriers were \u200binstalled earlier this \u2063month.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The DOJ \u2062claims that the floating barrier poses risks to navigation, public\u200b safety, and presents humanitarian concerns. They argue that \u200bit is unlawful for Texas to have installed these barriers.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Greg Abbott responded to this request by \u200dtweeting that Texas will not be removing the \u2062barriers and that they are prepared to face \u2062the DOJ in court.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Texas has the sovereign \u200dauthority to\u2063 defend our \u2064border, under the U.S. Constitution and the Texas Constitution,&#8221; Abbott tweeted. He also mentioned that they have sent numerous letters to the Biden administration explaining\u200c their authority.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Abbott further criticized President Biden&#8217;s open border\u2062 policies, stating that they encourage migrants\u200d to\u2062 risk\u2063 their\u2064 lives \u200bcrossing illegally through the\u200d Rio Grande instead of using legal means.
