Jacky Rosen of Violating \u2064Federal Law<\/h2>\n<p>The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) has accused Sen.\u200c Jacky Rosen (D-NV) of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senate-gop-campaign-arm-hits-sen-jacky-rosen-in-stock-flap\/\" title=\"Senate GOP campaign arm criticizes Sen. Jacky Rosen over stock controversy.\">violating \u2064federal law<\/a> that requires members of\u200d Congress\u200b to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dem-cindy-axne-flip-flops-on-banning-congressional-members-trading-stocks\/\" title=\"Dem Cindy Axne Flip-Flops on Banning Congressional Members Trading Stocks\">report stock transactions<\/a>. This accusation comes as Republicans aim to retake the Senate and Rosen seeks a second term next year. The NRSC&#8217;s claim is based on \u200ctwo of Rosen&#8217;s Periodic Transaction Reports filed on April 19, 2017, during her time in the House.<\/p>\n<h3>Senate Committee to Consider Advancing Bipartisan Children&#8217;s Online Safety Bill<\/h3>\n<p>The disclosed reports \u2062reveal that Rosen \u200dengaged in stock trading, amounting to\u2063 $15,000, \u2062in two companies: LogMeIn on Feb. 1 and Spectra Energy on Feb. \u206328 of that year. The LogMeIn trades \u200bwere executed by her\u2064 husband and were notified on Feb. \u206210, as indicated\u200d in the PTR. On the other hand, the Spectra Energy transactions were conducted through a family trust owned by her\u200c parents \u2063and were notified on March 6, as stated in the second filing.<\/p>\n<p>The STOCK Act, enacted in 2012, mandates members of\u200d Congress to\u2064 report transactions exceeding $1,000 in stocks, bonds, \u2063commodities futures, and other securities within 30 days of trade notification \u200cand 45 days of the exchange.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cJacky Rosen\u2063 broke federal law when she\u200c violated the STOCK Act, which is meant \u2063to stop Congress from insider \u200dtrading,&#8221; said NRSC spokeswoman Maggie Abboud in a statement on Friday. &#8220;Rosen is just \u200banother Washington insider who thinks the rules don&#8217;t apply to her.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A spokesperson for Rosen refuted any claim that the trades were not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/men-dressed-as-women-denied-kids-were-in-home-filled-with-alcohol-drugs-sex-toys-and-dead-body-police-say\/\" title=\"Police say men dressed as women denied kids were in home filled with alcohol, drugs, sex toys, and a dead body.\">promptly filed<\/a>, stating in a statement to\u2064 the\u200d Washington Examiner, &#8220;These\u200b were legal, automatic exchanges that the Rosens\u200d had no control over. They took place and were publicly reported\u2064 more than six years ago.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Rosen&#8217;s disclosures also reveal\u200c that her family trust\u2064 is \u200cestablished as a \u200climited partnership in Nevada. However, the \u200bstate revoked the partnership&#8217;s business rights in September 2019 due to its failure to file the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/china-to-leapfrog-u-s-as-worlds-biggest-economy-by-2028-think-tank\/\" title=\"China to leapfrog U.S. as world\u2019s biggest economy by 2028 \u2013 think tank\">annual report<\/a>. Despite this issue, Rosen reported thousands in trades over the two-year \u200cperiod it took to resolve the trust matter. However, filings indicate that these\u2063 transactions appear to be separate from the trust.<\/p>\n<p>The Nevada lawmaker was initially elected to the Senate in 2018 after serving a single term in the House. According to her Federal Election Commission filing, she raised\u2063 $2.7 million during the second quarter of this year for her reelection campaign.
