Millions of test tube babies and a million more frozen embryos\u2063 later, the global fertility industry has found a\u2063 new way to create life \u200cwithout a key natural component: women.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The Economist ran a series of articles in \u201cTechnology Quarterly\u201d \u200dthis month advocating for the expansion of assisted reproductive\u200d technology to \u2063in vitro\u2063 gametogenesis (IVG), an experimental procedure that \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-global-fertility-industry-seeks-to-erase-women-from-procreation-one-manufactured-egg-at-a-time\/\" title=\"Global fertility industry erases women from procreation, one artificial egg at a time.\">involves reprograming adult male stem cells<\/a> to become usable eggs.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>At\u200d least one of the stories acknowledges that outsourcing \u2063reproduction through \u2062existing technology like in vitro fertilization is \u201cfailing most women.\u201d Already, countries, states, and healthcare facilities are grappling with how to\u200b handle ethical, moral, and legal crises like \u200ccommercial surrogates with cancer and gay\u2063 men \u2064who want taxpayers to fund the creation of motherless children.<\/p>\n<p>As biotechnologists ramp up their fantasies about facilities filled with artificial wombs, dehumanizing \u2062\u201cgene editing,\u201d and \u200bnow, fabricated female gametes, concerns about technology outpacing our humanity should be high.<\/p>\n<p>The solution the British publication\u2063 repeatedly prescribes \u200bto its readers, however \u2014 speeding up technical advancements to meet the \u2063rapidly growing desire of infertile or sexually incompatible adults to have children \u2014 falls prey to one of the biggest scams sold by \u200dthe multi-billion dollar babymaking business.<\/p>\n<h2>Of Mice And Men<\/h2>\n<p>Enter Dr. Katsuhiko Hayashi, a Japanese researcher who, after decades of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senate-democrats-vote-down-amendment-that-would-have-banned-certain-human-animal-hybrid-experiments\/\" title=\"Senate Democrats Vote Down Amendment That Would Have Banned Certain Human-Animal Hybrid Experiments\">stem cell research<\/a>, recently used stem\u200b cells\u2064 converted from the skin on male mice tails paired \u2064with artificial ovaries\u2064 to grow oocytes ready for fertilization by another male mouse.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2062 products of the two male mice were then placed for gestation in surrogate\u2064 female mice. Of the 630 embryos manufactured with manipulated stem cell eggs and obtained sperm, more than half a dozen baby mice were born and appeared to mature without any defects.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of approaching this new IVG technology with a critical eye, media\u2063 outlets everywhere praised the discovery as a step towards human same-sex\u2063 reproduction. In the Economist\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nyt-silicon-valleys-prenatal-tests-for-serious-health-problems-have-a-stunning-false-positive-rate\/\" title=\"NYT: Silicon Valley's Prenatal Tests for Serious Health Problems Have a Stunning False Positive Rate\">recent article titled \u201c<\/a>New ways of\u2062 making babies are on\u200b the \u200chorizon,\u201d the author called Hayashi\u2019s\u2064 work one of many \u201cfeats of reproductive wizardry\u201d and pondered \u2064how long it would take researchers to make the\u2064 technology mainstream.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHenry Greely of Stanford University, a \u2063legal scholar\u2062 who \u200dspecialises in the ethics\u2062 of new biotech, thinks IVG may\u2062 within\u2064 a few\u200b decades be widely \u2064used even by \u2063those \u200cwho have \u2063no fertility problems,\u201d the article suggests. \u201cThe reasoning is that,\u200d if IVG proves \u200ccapable of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/common-pesticides-could-be-causing-sexual-dysphoria-robert-f-kennedy-jr\/\" title=\"Pesticides may cause Sexual Dysphoria: Robert F. Kennedy Jr.\">producing viable eggs<\/a> in copious amounts, it could allow the production of a\u200c large enough number of embryos to\u2062 allow screening for a wide number of\u2063 genetic traits, and that could be something many parents might want.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hayashi admits \u2064that elevating \u2062the technology beyond\u2064 rodents will \u2064take time and face\u2063 ethical hurdles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt (will be) difficult to \u2064produce babies from male-male (human) couples\u200d because of both technical and ethical\u2064 reasons,\u201d Hayashi told\u200b eager members of the press. \u201cBut it is theoretically possible to produce babies from male-male couples, as shown \u2062in this study.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yet, he\u2019s already begun working with\u2063 Silicon Valley startups to potentially mainstream the\u200b technology for humans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI \u200dmyself am\u200d gay \u2062and something I\u2019m very personally interested in\u2062 in terms of how it could allow people like \u200bme to\u200c be \u2063able to\u200b have biological children with their partners,\u201d Matt \u200cKrisiloff, founder of fertility\u2062 research \u200ccompany\u2062 Conception, explained in a video interview\u2064 with The Economist.<\/p>\n<p>Conception\u2019s website states its\u200b interest in the technology \u2063rests in the idea \u2063that it \u201cwould give \u200dwomen\u200b the opportunity to \u2062have children well into\u2063 their forties and fifties, eliminate barriers \u200cfor couples suffering from infertility, and potentially allow male-male \u200ccouples to have biological children.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other\u2064 beneficiaries, The\u200c Economist says, would be \u201cwomen with\u2062 low ovarian reserves\u201d \u2064and \u200b\u201ctransgender women.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Eventually, Krisiloff\u2019s company hopes to use the technology to empower the type of genetic testing that lets parents replace \u2063the inherent value\u2062 of life\u200d with a numeric placeholder.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis could become one of the most important\u2062 technologies ever created,\u201d\u2064 Conception\u2019s front page suggests.<\/p>\n<h2>Salt\u2063 In \u200bThe Wound<\/h2>\n<p>Krisiloff\u2019s background is in artificial intelligence.\u200b He \u200bwas a founding member of Open AI, the company\u200b that created \u200cChatGPT. As I\u2019ve written in \u200bprevious articles, the similarities in the AI and \u2064ART industries begin with a driving desire to propel \u2064humans beyond the natural limits of our bodies \u200band minds.<\/p>\n<p>Krisiloff\u2019s expressed desire to offer parenthood to\u2062 not just those\u200c who can afford \u200bit but \u2062those who deliberately\u2063 choose to leave half of a procreator out of the process is a recipe for disaster. More \u200cimportantly, it seeks to deliberately sideline women from\u200d something only possible because of them.<\/p>\n<p>Women, especially those who are strapped for cash, already face commodification from the fertility industry through ever-popular egg \u201cdonation\u201d \u2062and rent-a-womb \u2063contracts. If they are willing to sign \u2062on \u2063a dotted line that binds them\u200b to sacrificing their bodies, women and the babies born\u2064 of their eggs or womb are forever opened to\u200c a \u200dworld of pain\u200c and suffering for the sake of \u200dsomeone else\u2019s desires.<\/p>\n<p>Creating and raising a child\u2064 between two men \u200cor two women, \u2063studies show, deliberately puts the children being bought in these scenarios at a lifelong disadvantage. Kids who are born and raised by their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/defenders-of-traditional-marriage-should-follow-the-pro-life-playbook\/\" title=\"Defenders Of Traditional Marriage Should Follow The Pro-Life Playbook\">married biological mother<\/a> and father are more\u200c likely to \u200dlead healthier, safer, \u200band better-educated lives well above the poverty \u2064line, not any other way.<\/p>\n<p>Women aren\u2019t just necessary for raising healthy children, they are necessary for creating those children.
