She revealed that if it turns out to be a rematch of the last election, she would vote for her colleague, Joe Manchin (D-WV), as \u200ba\u200d third<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-mexico-congressional-election-poses-early-test-for-democrats\/\" title=\"New Mexico Congressional Election Poses Early Test for Democrats\">-party candidate<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Murkowski shared her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/joe-rogan-takes-surprising-stance-on-bud-light-controversy\/\" title=\"Joe Rogan Takes Surprising Stance On Bud Light Controversy\">surprising stance<\/a> during a conversation with \u2063PBS\u2019 Margaret\u200d Hoover on \u201cFiring Line.\u201d She expressed her willingness to support Manchin for\u200c president if he decides to run independently.<\/p>\n<h3>A Potential\u200c Game-Changer?<\/h3>\n<p>During the interview, Hoover mentioned an outside effort to persuade Joe\u2062 Manchin to run \u200cas an independent candidate in 2024. She asked Murkowski if such a scenario could potentially spoil Donald Trump&#8217;s chances and lead to\u2064 his return\u200b to the White House.<\/p>\n<p>Murkowski\u200b responded, &#8220;Yeah,\u200b you know, there\u2019s been no end of second-guessing \u2063and people \u2064moving the numbers around. I don\u2019t know on that. Others are smarter than me with elections [and] \u200bcan weigh in there and they certainly \u200bhave. Think about it: If we go \u2063into a \u200b2024 scenario where it\u2019s basically a redo of\u200d 2020 between Trump and Biden, what does that say? That\u2062 we have nobody better than these two?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She continued, &#8220;And so, an Independent \u2062or somebody who is offering something in the middle. People \u200bare hungry for that. I can tell you, I\u2019m talking to people up north. They\u2019re\u2064 asking because \u200bthey know that I\u2019m very close \u200cwith Joe Manchin and\u200d I brought him\u200c up to this \u200bstate\u2064 a couple of\u2063 times and he endorsed me. I\u2019ve \u2062endorsed him.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Later in\u200c the interview, Hoover \u200ddirectly \u200basked\u200d Murkowski if she\u200c would support Manchin\u2063 if he ran\u2062 as a third-party candidate. Murkowski confidently replied, &#8220;I tell you, if \u200dit\u2019s a matchup \u2063between Biden and Trump, I know exactly where I\u2019d go. I would \u200dgo with Joe Manchin.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Choosing the Best Candidate<\/p>\n<p>Murkowski emphasized her desire to \u2063be proactive in selecting\u2064 a candidate rather than \u200csettling for the &#8220;lesser of evils.&#8221; She \u200bexpressed her belief\u200d that Manchin is capable of doing the job.
