David Bloch,\u2064 who has been \u200ca coach for the snowboarding team at Woodstock Union \u200cHigh School for \u2063over a \u200bdecade, filed a lawsuit on Monday \u200cin the U.S. District Court for the District of\u200d Vermont.<\/p>\n<p>In the lawsuit, Bloch alleges that he was fired after\u2063 participating in a conversation with several students about a transgender snowboarder competing against girls\u2064 at\u200b another school. He expressed the view \u2062that males and females \u2064have different biological characteristics and that these differences give \u2062males \u200can advantage in athletic competitions.\u2064 Bloch emphasized that \u200dhe was not referring \u2062to any specific\u2063 student during the conversation.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2062lawsuit claims that Bloch was confronted by the superintendent of the \u200dWindsor \u200cCentral Supervisory \u2064Union, Sherry Sousa, the day after \u2062the discussion took place and was \u200cimmediately \u200bterminated, \u2062despite the\u200c fact that the investigation into the incident had just begun. Sousa also informed Bloch that he would be barred from any future coaching positions within the\u200d district.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe notice \u2062accused\u200b Bloch\u200b of violating Windsor Central Supervisory Union Board\u2019s Harassment, Hazing, and Bullying policy and the\u200c Vermont \u2062Principals\u2019 Association related policy for \u2018ma[king] reference to\u200d [a] student in a manner that questioned the legitimacy \u200band appropriateness\u2063 of the student competing \u200con the girls\u2019 team to \u2062members of the WUHS\u2063 snowboard team,&#8217;\u201d ADF said \u200bin its release.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Bloch, a practicing Catholic, believes\u200c that God created males and females with immutable sex and\u2062 that there are\u2062 only\u2064 two sexes based on scientific evidence.
