Brumm had planned \u2062to include a mention of Jesus\u2064 in one of the episodes, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bluey-creator-reveals-jesus-reference-that-disney-abc-bbc-removed-from-hit-childrens-show\/\" title=\"'Bluey' Creator Exposes Censored Jesus Reference in Popular Kids' Show\">major networks pushed back<\/a> against the idea.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;It \u200dwasn&#8217;t proselytizing, it wasn&#8217;t insulting,&#8221; Brumm explained. However, the reference was quickly shot down.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Bluey&#8221; centers \u2062around an animated dog and her \u200cfamily, and\u200b it has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/washington-post-humiliated-after-trying-to-make-country-cover-of-tracy-chapmans-fast-car-a-racial-issue\/\" title=\"Washington Post embarrassed over attempt to racialize Tracy Chapman's 'Fast Car' country cover.\">gained \u2064immense popularity<\/a>, ranking\u200d among\u200b the most-watched shows in the English-speaking world. In the United States, where\u2062 the show\u200c is available on Disney+, it was one of the most streamed\u2064 programs of 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Considering\u2062 the show&#8217;s influence on young viewers, Brumm&#8217;s\u200d intended reference to \u200dJesus held significance. He drew inspiration \u200bfrom his days \u200bas a Catholic school student, where he encountered classmates who knew little or nothing about Jesus. Brumm found humor in the exchanges that could arise from these circumstances and wanted to incorporate that humor into &#8220;Bluey.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>His plan was to have one character mention\u2063 Jesus walking on water, followed \u2063by Bluey&#8217;s innocent question, &#8220;Who&#8217;s Jesus?&#8221;\u2062 Unfortunately,\u200d the Australia Broadcasting Corporation, the BBC, and Disney rejected the idea.<\/p>\n<p>Brumm agreed with the\u2063 decision\u2064 on age-appropriate grounds, acknowledging that 3- and 4-year-olds might not \u2064understand the joke. He stated, &#8220;It doesn&#8217;t belong in a \u2063preschool \u200bcartoon. It&#8217;s too weird. But it\u2062 still made \u2063me laugh.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>While the exclusion of this Christian reference may have \u200bbeen well-intentioned,\u200d it highlights the skepticism Christians often have towards the entertainment industry.
