Michael Flynn, Per Report\">pleaded guilty<\/a> to possession of \u200bchild \u2063pornography on Friday morning in a federal courtroom in\u200d Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bidens-doj-child-sex-trafficking-office-updates-website-page-now-half-size-critical-info-gone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Department of Justice<\/a> announced in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/former-journalist-pleads-guilty-transportation-and-possession-child-sexual-abuse-material\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/emergency-wisconsin-lawsuit-to-stop-certification-challenges-nearly-160000-votes\/\" title=\"Emergency Wisconsin Lawsuit To Stop Certification Challenges Nearly 160,000 Votes\">news release<\/a><\/a> \u2064that Meek, 53, \u200dhad pleaded guilty to the \u2062transportation and possession of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/5x-emmy-nominee-ex-abc-news-producer-pleads-guilty-to-horrific-child-porn-charges\/\" title=\"Former ABC News producer, nominated for 5 Emmys, admits guilt in disturbing child pornography case.\">child \u2062sexual abuse \u200cmaterial<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Former Journalist Pleads Guilty to\u2063 Transportation \u200band Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/qz4tUROo5v\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/t.co\/qz4tUROo5v<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Criminal\u2064 Division (@DOJCrimDiv) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DOJCrimDiv\/status\/1682426128466583552?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">July 21, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Disturbing Details of Meek&#8217;s Crimes<\/h3>\n<p>According to the DOJ, Meek\u200d was visiting\u2062 South Carolina \u200bin February 2020 from his home in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/pornhub-shut-off-access-virginia-states-new-law-goes-effect-july-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Virginia<\/a> when he sent and received disturbing images and videos that depicted\u2064 minors engaged\u200c in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-truth-about-hunter-bidens-laptop\/\" title=\"The Truth About Hunter Biden\u2019s Laptop\">sexual activity<\/a> with adults.<\/p>\n<p>He allegedly discussed in detail his sexual \u2062interests\u2064 in children during\u200b conversations on \u200da smart phone while using a chat\u200d application.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em><strong>WARNING: The following descriptions of the \u2064material and messages discovered in the investigation contain graphic language which some may\u200c find disturbing.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Files\u2063 found on the phone reportedly included images and videos of prepubescent children and at least one file that depicted an\u2062 infant being raped.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/abc-journalist-child-pornography-meek-8f2a89a8ec8272dcd9ff66be85a8ba8d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The\u200d Associated Press<\/a> reported \u2064the file was a video that was shared during \u2064a conversation between Meek and two other people.<\/p>\n<p>Meek\u2019s home was\u200c initially raided by \u2064the\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/burisma-bombshell-breaks-ny-post-adds-hunters-bad-thursday-informing-world-fbi-knew\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FBI<\/a> last year after the data storage company Dropbox flagged a number of videos he was storing on its servers, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/07\/21\/ex-abc-news-reporter-james-gordon-meek-faces-minimum-5-years-in-child-porn-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New York Post<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>A number of electronic devices \u200cwere seized. In February of this year, Meek was arrested and charged.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators \u200dsaid \u2064Meek sent \u200dand received disturbing images and also sent alarming messages.<\/p>\n<p>Some of them dated \u200cback as far as 2014.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHave you \u2062ever \u2063raped a toddler girl?\u200b It\u2019s amazing,\u201d one message typed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/acclaimed-abc-news-reporter-will-plead-guilty-horrific-child-porn-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meek<\/a> and obtained by investigators \u2064read.<\/p>\n<p>In another message, he reportedly \u200bspoke of \u201cabducting, drugging, and raping\u201d a girl \u200dwho was only 12 years old.<\/p>\n<p>Other messages he exchanged were with minor children,\u2062 while the \u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/dc-md-va\/2023\/07\/21\/james-meek-abc-news-guilty-plea\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Washington Post<\/a> reported he also had classified information \u200bon one computer.<\/p>\n<p>The AP, citing a federal affidavit, reported the former producer and journalist\u200c also used \u201cSnapchat and\u2064 other apps to pressure minors into sending him sexually explicit images\u201d and \u200csometimes \u201cportrayed himself as a girl.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meek was hired by ABC News in 2013 following a lengthy stint\u200d with the New York Daily\u2063 News, where he was a \u2063national security\u200c reporter.<\/p>\n<p>He resigned from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/abc-news-staff-left-shocked-bloodbath-company-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABC News<\/a> after the FBI \u2062raid of his home\u200d in April \u200b2022.<\/p>\n<p>Meek\u2019s sentencing \u2062hearing is scheduled for September 29. \u200cHe faces a \u200cmandatory minimum \u2062sentence\u2062 of five years in prison, but could \u200bget up to 40 years, the DOJ \u2063said.<\/p>\n<p>The post <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/5x-emmy-nominee-ex-abc-news-producer-pleads-guilty-horrific-child-sex-crimes\/\">5x Emmy Nominee, Ex-ABC News Producer Pleads Guilty to Horrific Child \u2062Porn Charges<\/a> \u2064 appeared\u2062 first on <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\">The Western \u2064Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>James Gordon Meek, a former ABC News producer and Emmy nominee, admitted guilt for possessing child pornography in a Virginia federal court.
