Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/democrats-demand-reform-of-maga-supreme-court-over-unanimous-ruling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">called<\/a> for packing the Court with\u200c liberal justices, referring \u200cto\u2064 it\u2064 as\u2064 a &#8220;MAGA \u2063Supreme Court.&#8221; The mainstream media, meanwhile, have\u2063 repeatedly defended Biden against accusations of politicizing the Court even as the \u2063president\u2063 &#8220;repeatedly railed against \u2063the Supreme Court in highly partisan terms,&#8221; the <em>Washington Free Beacon<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/media\/biden-supreme-court-attacks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stopthebigboxbaitandswitch.com\/?utm_source=freebeacon&#038;utm_medium=advertising&#038;utm_campaign=2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stopthebigboxbaitandswitch.com\/?utm_source=freebeacon&#038;utm_medium=advertising&#038;utm_campaign=2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Tushnet and \u2063Belkin, \u2062who also support Court-packing, wrote,\u200b &#8220;The threat\u2062 that MAGA justices pose is so extreme&#8221; \u200dthat Biden must &#8220;act when MAGA justices issue high-stakes rulings.&#8221; While the \u200bprofessors \u200csay Biden shouldn&#8217;t &#8220;simply ignore every MAGA ruling,&#8221; they point to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/student-group-presses-supreme-court-to-fast-track-unc-affirmative-action-case\/\" title=\"Student Group Presses Supreme Court To Fast-Track UNC Affirmative Action Case\">affirmative action decision<\/a> as a \u200cruling he should ignore.<\/p>\n<p>The professors&#8217; argument, \u200cwhich\u200c is based\u2062 on a theory called \u2062&#8221;Popular Constitutionalism,&#8221; challenges the\u200d American constitutional principle\u2062 of judicial review, which grants the Supreme Court the power \u200cto strike down \u2064laws as \u200bunconstitutional.\u200c A president who refuses \u2062to abide by\u2063 a\u200c Supreme Court \u2064ruling would undoubtedly ignite a \u200bconstitutional crisis.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by the principles of justice, equality, and fairness, regardless of the Supreme Court&#8217;s ruling,&#8221; stated the letter from the Harvard professor and San Francisco State University political scientist.
