target=&#8221;_blank&#8221; rel=&#8221;noopener&#8221;>Pitchfork<\/a> noted that the \u201cstalwart political punk band\u201d announced it\u200b was dissolving only a day before a scheduled concert in Prague.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnti-Flag has disbanded,\u201d the Pittsburgh band \u2062said Wednesday on its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patreon.com\/antiflag\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Patreon page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Pitchfork reported that the band\u2019s publicist declined to\u200c comment on \u2064the situation.<\/p>\n<p>While Anti-Flag didn\u2019t provide a reason for the \u200csudden breakup,\u2062 there \u2064is one disturbing possibility.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stereogum.com\/2230667\/anti-flag-announce-break-up-following-possible-rape-accusations-against-frontman\/news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stereogum<\/a> reported Thursday that Justin Geever,\u200c the\u200d band\u2019s\u200d founder and lead singer who\u200d goes by the stage name \u2064Justin Sane, might be \u200daccused\u200c of rape.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/oregons-new-secretary-of-state-democrat-caught-hosting-birthday-gathering-in-defiance-of-governors-covid-orders\/\" title=\"Oregon\u2019s New Secretary Of State (Democrat) CAUGHT Hosting Birthday Gathering In Defiance Of Governor\u2019s Covid Orders\">latest episode<\/a> of Enough, \u2063a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/is-the-white-houses-push-for-paxlovid-evidence-based\/\" title=\"Is the White House\u2019s Push for Paxlovid Evidence-Based?\">podcast dedicated<\/a> to sexual assault in the music business, a woman tells a story about\u2062 being raped by \u200dthe singer in a\u200b political punk band,\u201d the music site reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe never names the band or the\u2063 singer, but \u200bit\u2019s hard to hear that \u200dstory without connecting\u200c dots.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The woman said her rapist knocked her onto a\u200b bed, \u201cput his \u200dhand around my throat and basically \u2062turned into a monster.\u201d She said he \u201cproceeded\u2063 to violently\u200c attack me. \u2026 There were several moments that\u2063 I thought \u200cI was dying.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u200dwoman\u2019s horrific tale can be\u2062 heard <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tfnGBAKRdPQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This \u200dstory requires two layers of caveats.<\/p>\n<p>First, the Stereogum report makes it clear\u200b that no one has \u200bpublicly named Geever as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-sexual-assault-accuser-flees-country-sending-ominous-warning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rape suspect<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Second, even if \u200dGeever\u200d finds himself formally accused\u2062 and \u2062charged, we\u200d must presume his innocence until it\u2062 is proved otherwise.<\/p>\n<p>These are no \u2064mere platitudes, for\u2064 equal \u2063protection under the law\u2064 applies even to those who hold odious views.<\/p>\n<p>This brings me to Anti-Flag itself.<\/p>\n<p>The \u200bnow-defunct \u2064band featured four words\u2062 in the banner of its \u2063now-defunct <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patreon.com\/antiflag\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Patreon page<\/a>: \u201cNo Borders.
