Experts Weigh In\">falsifying business records<\/a> in connection with an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/now-we-know-the-start-date-of-trumps-document-trial-its-right-before-several-key-primaries\/\" title=\"Trump's Document Trial Set Right Before Key Primaries\">alleged hush money\u2062 payment<\/a> to a porn actress.<\/p>\n<p>It also means the trial\u200d will not start until deep into the presidential nominating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncsl.org\/elections-and-campaigns\/2024-state-primary-election-dates\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">calendar<\/a> and probably \u2063well after the\u200b Republican nominee is clear \u2014 though before that\u200c person is officially nominated at the Republican National \u2063Convention.<\/p>\n<p>In pushing back the trial from the Dec. 11 start date that the Justice Department had asked \u2064for, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/judge-cannon-issues-ruling-trump-prosecutors-big-order\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cannon<\/a> wrote that \u201cthe Government\u2019s proposed schedule is atypically accelerated and inconsistent with ensuring a fair trial.\u201d She agreed with defense lawyers that the amount of evidence that will \u200cneed to be sifted through before the trial, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-pentagon-pick-colin-kahl-denies-leaking-classified-information-on-social-media\/\" title=\"Biden Pentagon Pick Colin Kahl Denies Leaking Classified Information on Social Media\">including classified information<\/a>, is \u201cvoluminous.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Court\u2064 finds that the interests of\u2062 justice served by this continuance outweigh the best interest of\u200c the public\u200c and Defendants in a\u2063 speedy trial,\u201d Cannon wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Trump could yet \u2062face additional trials in the coming year.<\/p>\n<p>He <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/breaking-trump-receives-horrifying-news-special-counsel-jack-smith-regarding-jan-6-grand-jury\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">revealed<\/a> this week \u2063that he had received a letter informing him\u2062 that he\u2062 was a target of a separate Justice Department investigation into the aftermath\u2062 of the 2020 \u2062presidential election, and prosecutors in Georgia plan to announce charging decisions within weeks in an investigation into \u2064alleged \u200dattempts by Trump and his allies to subvert the vote there.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-style: italic\">The Western Journal has reviewed this\u2063 Associated Press story \u2062and may have altered it prior to publication to ensure that it\u2064 meets our editorial standards.<\/p>\n<p>The post <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/now-know-start-date-trumps-document-trial-right-several-key-primaries\/\">Now We Know the Start Date of Trump&#8217;s Document Trial &#8211; It&#8217;s Right Before Several Key Primaries<\/a> appeared first on <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\">The Western Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>May 2023 and a request from Trump&#8217;s defense team to delay until 2025.
