Additionally, social media companies\u200b would be\u200c mandated \u2063to implement user controls, including options for limiting \u200bscreen \u200btime, restricting addictive features, and limiting access to user profiles. These management tools would default to the strictest settings for\u2064 users under the\u2063 age of 16, and parents would also be provided\u2064 with tools to manage their children&#8217;s time on the platform.<\/p>\n<p>The \u200blatest version of the Kids Online Safety Act \u2062eliminates the requirement for \u2064websites \u2062to verify a user&#8217;s age \u2062before granting access, a policy that\u200b has been cautioned against \u200dby tech and\u200c privacy advocates.
