To see \u200cpeople like they did, with \u200bhorses, running them over, people being strapped, it\u2019s outrageous,&#8221; Biden\u200b added.\u2064 &#8220;I promise you, those people will pay. There is an investigation underway right now, and there will be consequences.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Reporting from October 2022, after the\u2063 CBP investigation concluded, additionally alleged that Department of\u2063 Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was aware\u2064 that the photographer, \u200dwhose photos sparked the controversy,\u200b had contacted DHS and disputed claims made by activists. Greg Abbott (R-TX) had installed razor \u2064wire along the southern border, ordered Texas officials to push migrants back into the Rio Grande rather than\u200d let them cross onto U.S. soil, and deprive immigrants in custody of \u200bfood and\u2062 water.<\/p>\n<p>Though Jean-Pierre has strongly condemned Abbott&#8217;s orders, she has repeatedly declined to echo claims from some, including the Mexican \u2063government, that Abbott is\u2064 violating\u2063 international law. \u2063She has also declined to say whether the White House has determined the reports credible or not.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;We saw those reports, clearly. If they are true, \u200cit is abhorrent, \u200bit is despicable, it is dangerous, and we&#8217;re \u2063talking about the bedrock\u2062 values\u200d of who we are \u2063as a country, and the indecency, the human indecency that we&#8217;re seeing, \u2063potentially, if this is \u2063true,\u200c is\u2063 just \u2062wrong. It is \u2064just completely, completely wrong,&#8221; she told reporters during Tuesday&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/newsom-extends-southern-california-stay-at-home-order-for-at-least-another-three-weeks\/\" title=\"Newsom Extends Southern California Stay-at-Home Order For at Least Another Three Weeks\">press briefing<\/a>. &#8220;But I \u2062would say, sadly, it would not be surprising from a governor who, let&#8217;s not forget, on Christmas Eve, put migrant children on the streets in \u2062below-zero-degree temperature. That&#8217;s what we saw from this governor, but again, we don&#8217;t know if this is true, if the reporting is true, but it is truly troubling to hear this type of reporting.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;As it relates to any legal action, that&#8217;s something that Department\u2063 of Justice is going to certainly look into or has to deal with,&#8221; Jean-Pierre added during Wednesday&#8217;s briefing when \u2063asked \u2062if the administration would take any action against Abbott. \u2064&#8221;As it \u200crelates to the indecent, inhumane way \u200dthat migrants are being taken \u2014 you know, the actions that are being taken against them, I can continue to condemn them here, right? We&#8217;ve done that in \u200dthe most strongest terms, and so I&#8217;ll just leave it from there \u200dat the moment.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The White \u200cHouse declined to comment for\u2062 this story, but a veteran Democratic strategist familiar with the Biden team&#8217;s thinking told the \u200cWashington Examiner that it&#8217;s &#8220;obvious&#8221; the more muted reaction to these new reports comes in response to the &#8220;egg\u200d on their face&#8221; caused by \u2063the whipping\u200d scandal.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Pushing people into the river and denying children water \u2063is arguably worse than what was alleged back in 2021,&#8221; the strategist stated. &#8220;But the White House has been hesitant to \u200doutwardly\u200d promise retribution against\u200b Abbott, \u200cas activists are openly calling for. It&#8217;s not \u2062rocket science.
