He inquired about any ongoing \u2063DHS programs or outreach efforts that could be utilized to assist with the issue at hand.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;While we recognize that this\u200d is primarily a state and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-communicated-with-dhs-over-infamous-nsba-letter-documents-show\/\" title=\"White House and DHS exchanged messages regarding NSBA letter, records reveal.\">local law enforcement matter<\/a>, I wanted\u2064 to check if you were aware\u200c of any DHS initiatives\u200d that could be of \u200dhelp,&#8221; Massetti wrote.<\/p>\n<p>A significant portion of the email exchanges between \u200dDHS officials is redacted. However, \u200dMassetti reiterated his request on October 4, 2021, the same day Attorney \u200cGeneral Merrick Garland issued a \u200bnotable \u200cmemo.\u2062 Acting Deputy\u200b Assistant Secretary for \u2062Counterterrorism and Threat Prevention Lucian Sikorskyj instructed the NSC \u2064official to \u200dcontact him directly for \u2064further assistance, while Director of the Center for Prevention, Programs, and Partnerships \u200cJohn Picarelli provided Massetti\u200b with &#8220;three relevant\u2062 responses&#8221; related to his inquiry.
