While some might celebrate \u200bthis, let\u2019s look at where we really\u2064 are two \u2064and a half years \u200binto this administration.<\/p>\n<p>Inflation numbers are given year-over-year. That means the goods we could buy\u200b last June for a dollar now cost us $1.03. Typically, 3 percent \u2064inflation is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/op-ed-dont-fall-for-bidens-talking-points-about-inflation-heres-where-we-really-are\/\" title=\"Op-Ed: Don't Be Fooled by Biden's Inflation Claims - The Truth Revealed\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/more-than-73-of-americans-who-died-of-covid-19-were-obese-or-overweight-cdc-data\/\" title=\"More Than 73% Of Americans Who Died Of COVID-19 Were Obese Or Overweight: CDC Data\">considered healthy<\/a> economic \u2063growth<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But \u200blast June the inflation rate was 9.1 percent, and the year before it was \u200d5.4 percent. So \u2062prices\u200b increased almost twice as much as what is considered healthy from 2020 to 2021, then three times\u200c as much from 2021 to 2022, and now we\u2019ve finally settled down.<\/p>\n<p>But is bad, bad, normal something\u200c to\u2063 celebrate?<\/p>\n<p>Those numbers come from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usinflationcalculator.com\/inflation\/current-inflation-rates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S. Inflation Calculator<\/a>, which gets its numbers from the Bureau\u2062 of \u200bLabor \u200dand Statistics. Let us look at what it\u200b took in June 2023 to buy what a dollar bought in\u200d 2020, the year before Biden ascended \u200dto\u2062 the Oval Office.<\/p>\n<p>The goods and\u200c services you could buy with $1 in \u200bJune 2020 now cost more than $1.18.\u2063 That is all OK if wages kept pace, but did they?<\/p>\n<h3>Wage Growth Stagnation<\/h3>\n<p>According to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atlantafed.org\/chcs\/wage-growth-tracker\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/u-s-job-openings-plunge-to-nine-month-low-as-labor-demand-eases\/\" title=\"U.S. Job Openings Plunge to Nine-Month Low as Labor Demand Eases\">wage growth tracker<\/a><\/a>, they did not.<\/p>\n<p>The three-month\u2063 moving average of the growth in the U.S. median wage was 3.2 percent, 6.7\u2064 percent and 5.4 percent in June 2021, 2022 and 2023, respectively. \u2063That means that on average, for\u2062 every dollar a person earned in June \u200b2020, he or she earned $1.16 in \u2062June 2023.<\/p>\n<p>So at this point under the Biden regime, most \u2064Americans are poorer, in real dollars,\u200b than they were in June 2020.<\/p>\n<p>How\u200c does that compare to the same time period in\u200c Donald Trump\u2019s presidency?<\/p>\n<p>Inflation numbers for June 2017, 2018 and 2019 were 1.6 percent, 2.9 percent\u200c and 1.6 percent, respectively. Median wage\u2062 growth\u2064 for \u200dthe same time period was 3.2 percent, 3.2 percent \u2063and 3.9 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Putting those \u200dnumbers together,\u200d we see that in June 2019 it took $1.06 to purchase what a person could \u200bbuy with $1 in June 2016, the year before Trump took office. Real wages\u200d grew more than\u200d 10 \u200dpercent in the same period. On average, for every\u200d dollar a person earned \u2063in June 2016, that person \u2064was earning $1.10 in June 2019. That was <em>growth<\/em> \u2063in purchasing power for the average American.<\/p>\n<p>Practically every sector \u2062of the U.S. \u200ceconomy has seen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/media-silent-on-biden-admin-plan-to-use-public-land-for-solar-farms\/\" title=\"Media Silent on Biden Admin Plan to Use Public Land For Solar Farms\">prices rise dramatically<\/a> \u200dunder Biden, with\u2064 wages failing to keep up. \u2062Prices rose modestly under Trump at the same stage in his presidency, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-knew-100-percent-he-was-fighting-for-the-little-guy-former-top-trump-economic-adviser\/\" title=\"Trump Knew \u2018100 Percent\u2019 He Was \u2018Fighting for the Little Guy\u2019: Former Top Trump Economic Adviser\">wages grew faster<\/a> than prices.<\/p>\n<p>Do not fall for Biden\u2019s \u200btalking \u2062points. \u2064The typical American is not \u200bfaring well under Uncle Joe.<\/p>\n<p>While \u200cthe establishment media may not \u200ctell you this tale, they are at \u200dleast <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/01\/28\/politics\/fact-check-biden-economic-speech-january-2023\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">starting to call<\/a> the propagandist in chief on some of his \u2062untruths.<\/p>\n<p>The post <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/op-ed-dont-fall-bidens-talking-points-inflation-really\/\">Op-Ed: Don&#8217;t Fall for \u200cBiden&#8217;s Talking Points About Inflation -\u200b Here&#8217;s \u2063Where We Really Are<\/a> appeared first\u2064 on <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\">The Western Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Biden administration emphasizes that inflation was at 3.0% in June.
