Somebody from Twitter essentially\u2063 asked whether the laptop was real,\u201d she added.\u200d \u201cAnd one\u200b of\u200b the FBI folks who was on the call did confirm that, \u2018yes, it was,\u2019 before another participant jumped in and said, \u2018no \u2062further comment.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jordan claimed Dehmlow\u2019s testimony\u2063 further showed that it was an analyst in the FBI\u2019s Criminal Investigative Division embedded in FITF who had begun to explain \u200cthat the laptop was real\u200d before being \u200ccut off.<\/p>\n<p>On the instruction of FBI\u200d counsel, Dehmlow refused to reveal which FBI official made the decision to stick with\u200b \u201cno\u2063 comment\u201d going forward, but she did state that it was not her call, the chairman \u200bsaid. The FITF also \u2062had a meeting with Facebook later\u2063 on October 14,\u200c 2020, during which\u2062 the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/facebook-bans-gop-account-allows-inflammatory-dnc-ads\/\" title=\"Facebook bans GOP account, allows inflammatory DNC ads\">social media giant<\/a> was only told \u201cno comment\u201d when a similar question \u2062was posed about the laptop\u2019s authenticity, according to Dehmlow\u2019s testimony.<\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Another excerpt \u200bshows that Dehmlow said she was \u201cpretty\u2062 certain\u201d that then-FITF\u2063 Section Chief Brad\u2063 Benavides and individuals\u200d on the Russia unit were \u200daware\u2062 at that \u2062time the\u200c laptop was real.<\/p>\n<p>In the hours that followed publication, Twitter\u2064 blocked the New\u2063 York Post <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/10\/14\/email-reveals-how-hunter-biden-introduced-ukrainian-biz-man-to-dad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> \u200b with details of Hunter Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gravy-train-keeps-rolling-for-second-stepdaughter-ella-emhoff\/\" title=\"Gravy Train Keeps Rolling for Second Stepdaughter Ella Emhoff\">shady business dealings<\/a> and his father\u2019s possible ties\u2063 to them from being shared, \u2064claiming the\u2064 story violated its \u200crule against sharing \u201chacked\u201d materials. \u2064Facebook, too, took steps to limit the \u200cspread of the story, which came just weeks before Hunter\u2019s father, Joe Biden, was elected \u2063President\u200c of the United States.<\/p>\n<p>While Democrats in Congress have downplayed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fbi-allegedly-informed-twitter-the-hunter-biden-laptop-was-real-on-key-date\/\" title=\"FBI reportedly told Twitter about authenticity of Hunter Biden laptop on crucial day.\">temporary social media\u2062 clampdown<\/a> on the story, with Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) <a href=\"https:\/\/6abc.com\/former-twitter-execs-say-removal-of-hunter-biden-laptop-story-was-a\/12790381\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accusing \u200chis GOP colleagues<\/a> of whipping up a \u201cfaux scandal about this two-day lapse in their ability to spread Hunter Biden propaganda on a private media platform,\u201d Republicans have raised concerns \u200cabout there being a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/jim-jordan-subpoenas-big-tech-executives-in-collusion-investigation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">coordinated effort<\/a> involving Big Tech and \u2064government agents to suppress damaging information about the Bidens in the run-up to the 2020 election. In addition, current and former <a href=\"https:\/\/6abc.com\/former-twitter-execs-say-removal-of-hunter-biden-laptop-story-was-a\/12790381\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> and\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/08\/25\/mark-zuckerberg-criticizes-twitters-handling-of-the-posts-hunter-biden-laptop-story\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> executives have conceded that cracking down on the\u200b story was a mistake.<\/p>\n<p>As Jordan \u2062contended in his letter, the same FBI personnel who\u200c were \u2062warning social \u2062media companies about\u200d a \u200cpotential Russian \u201chack and leak\u201d operation \u200din the run-up to the 2020 election knew that the laptop was not Russian disinformation, as was suggested in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/active-cia-employee-asked-intel-veteran-if-he-would-sign-hunter-biden-letter-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter from former intelligence officials<\/a>. He cited <a href=\"https:\/\/waysandmeans.house.gov\/smith-testimony-of-irs-employees-reveals-biden-irs-doj-interfered-in-tax-investigation-of-hunter-biden-revealing-preferential-treatment-for-wealthy-and-politically-connected\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recent \u2062testimony by\u200b Internal Revenue Service supervisory agent Gary Shapley<\/a>, who has emerged as a whistleblower in the \u2063Hunter Biden criminal case, asserting that the FBI <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/doj-knew-hunter-biden-laptop-was-not-manipulated-contained-reliable-evidence-in-2019-whistleblower\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">verified the\u200d authenticity<\/a> of the laptop in November\u200d 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/administration\/546148-hunter-biden-doesnt-know-if-delaware-laptop-was-his\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has said\u2064 in the past<\/a> that he did not know whether he was the owner of \u200bthe laptop \u200babandoned at a Delaware repair shop before it was seized \u2064by the FBI, and his\u200b legal team has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/hunter-biden-denver-riggleman-former-gop-congressman-jan-6-select-committee-adviser\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reportedly been<\/a> looking for possible distorted or fabricated data linked to the first son.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan\u2019s letter\u200b was \u200baddressed to FBI Director Christopher\u2062 Wray, \u2062requesting information and\u2064 documents from the bureau, including the identities\u2063 of the officials who dictated how\u2064 the bureau would respond to inquiries about \u200bthe \u200dlaptop, with an August 3 deadline.
