Kent Wetherell of Florida wrote Tuesday. \u201cBut even more troubling is the fact that DHS apparently\u2062 does not have a plan in place \u200dto track down the aliens who are in\u200d violation of the conditions of their \u2018parole\u2019 \u2014 and, thus, unlawfully in the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Officials said ICE \u2063failed to issue so many court summonses due to \u201climited agency resources.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDHS maintains its commitment that individuals have an obligation to comply with requirements imposed by DHS, and \u200dICE is prepared to take such actions\u200c as \u2063may be required to ensure that individuals who were released pending \u2062the initiation of their\u2064 immigration court proceedings comply with the terms of their release,\u201d a Justice Department lawyer told the judge.<\/p>\n<p>However, Judge Wetherell, a Trump appointee, said he is \u201cskeptical that DHS \u200bis \u200cserious\u201d about finding the \u2064migrants and making them comply with the\u2063 law. The judge called\u200b these migrants \u201conly the tip of the iceberg\u201d and referenced the many other \u200cillegal migrants who have been released into the\u200b country by the Biden administration.<\/p>\n<p>Hours before Title 42 expired in May, Wetherell <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2023\/05\/11\/title-42-judge-blocks-biden-from-paroling-migrants-on-border\/70210277007\/#:~:text=Title%2042%2C%20first%20imposed%20during,that%20public%20health%20emergency%20Thursday.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">issued<\/a> a ruling blocking\u200b the Biden administration\u2019s \u201cparole\u201d program. However, by that point, thousands of migrants had already reaped the benefits of the program.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Southwest \u2063Border has been out of control for the \u200cpast 2 years,\u201d Wetherell said \u2064at the time. \u201cAnd it is about\u2062 to\u2064 get worse because,\u200b at midnight tonight, the\u200d Title 42 \u200dorder expires.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Overall, during the last\u200b two years, the administration <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/immigration-parole-migrants-us-expansion-biden\/#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has\u2064 allowed<\/a> at least 541,000 migrants into the country\u2062 through the parole authority, which allows the federal government to let in migrants without visas.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration\u2019s broad use of parole authority has lowered \u2063Border Patrol\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ice-didnt-issue-summonses-to-over-80-of-migrants-released-under-bidens-parole-program-before-title-42-ended-report\/\" title=\"Over 80% of migrants released under Biden's 'Parole' program were not issued summonses by ICE before Title 42 ended, says report.\">illegal migrant apprehension numbers<\/a>, which one former \u200bDHS official called \u201cdeceitful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe number\u2062 of illegal and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/immigration-expert-reveals-why-latest-border-numbers-are-deceitful\/\" title=\"Immigration expert exposes truth behind misleading border figures.\">inadmissible aliens coming<\/a> into the country\u200b is still just as high, but the administration\u2063 is using a \u200bshell game and sending people through\u2063 ports of entry\u2063 instead of between ports of entry, and\u200d then declaring that an improvement on \u200cthe border,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/immigration-expert-reveals-why-latest-border-numbers-are-deceitful\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> Lora Ries,\u200c director of the Border Security and Immigration Center at The Heritage Foundation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) failed to issue court summonses to over 80% of migrants released under President Biden&#8217;s &#8220;parole&#8221; program before Title 42&#8217;s termination.
