They ruled in favor \u2063of the family after McDonald\u2019s steaming hot \u2064chicken nuggets left a \u200b<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/woman-2-children-dead-after-minn-shooting\/\" title=\"Woman, 2 children dead after Minn. shooting\">young girl<\/a> with severe second-degree burns.<\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1\" style=\"min-width: 320px; min-height: 50px;  text-align: center;\">  \t<script>  \t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1'); });  \t<\/script>  <\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-slot__ad-label\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>Lawyers\u2063 for the family of 4-year-old Olivia Caraballo were originally seeking $15 million in damages after she suffered the burns back in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit cited that the\u2062 \u201cunreasonably and dangerously\u201d\u2064 hot chicken nuggets were a part of a McDonald\u2019s Happy\u200b Meal that inflicted wounds\u200d to Caraballo\u2019s thigh. Caraballo\u2019s parents \u2062claim their daughter got the\u200d burns after a hot Chicken McNugget dropped on her leg while she sitting in the back of \u200cher parents\u2019 car at the local establishment\u2019s drive-thru.<\/p>\n<p>Jurors reached a verdict on\u2062 Wednesday, awarding \u200bthe family $400,000 in damages for\u2062 the past four years of her life \u2064and an additional $400,000\u2062 for any ongoing issues \u200cin the\u200c future.<\/p>\n<p>After deliberating\u200d for less than two hours, jurors were quick to find fault with the franchise.<br \/>\u201cI\u2019m actually \u2063just happy \u2063that they listened to Olivia\u2019s\u200b voice \u2062and\u2064 the \u2064jury was able to decide a fair judgment,\u201d Olivia\u2019s mother, Philana Holmes, told reporters outside the courtroom. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m happy with that.\u200d I honestly \u2063had no expectations, so this \u2063is more than fair for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McDonalds\u2064 defense attorneys refused to immediately\u2062 respond to\u2063 any requests for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Stay informed!
