My father\u2019s from Augusta, Georgia, and Macon, Georgia. I spent\u2064 many\u200b summers there. \u2026 It is one of the most\u200b racist places in this country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo don\u2019t tell me that\u2063 he knew nothing about what that imagery [from the music video] meant. \u2026 So I don\u2019t give him the \u2063benefit of the\u200d doubt.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Well, first of all, you\u2019d think a lawyer would \u2063understand\u200d basic Census data, but it appears\u2064 that Hostin won\u2019t let\u2063 the numbers \u2064get in the way of her feelings.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Census Bureau,\u200b Macon County \u2064is majority\u2062 black: 59.3 percent to 37 percent white.\u00a0If there is rampant anti-black racism\u2063 there, it\u2019s being\u2062 perpetrated by the\u2062 minority.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the Macon-Bibb County consolidated government\u200b has four black commission \u200bmembers, and the mayor\u2019s web page features a prominent entry about \u201cDiversity, Equity, and Inclusion\u201d \u2063efforts.<\/p>\n<p>Putting an \u200dabsurd bowtie on this cacophony of \u200dracially driven\u200d nonsense, the\u2063 segment ended with Hostin reading a \u201clegal \u200cnote\u201d that was, effectively, a statement from Team Aldean.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh,\u2064 I\u2019m \u2064sorry,\u201d she said. \u201cI have a legal\u200b note: Jason Aldean defended his song in a statement, \u2064saying the references people have made are not only meritless but dangerous.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It \u2062should be \u200cnoted that Hostin read this statement with all\u2063 of the intentional\u2063 dramatization you\u2019d expect from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-view-reads-legal-note-after-making-absurd-allegation-about-aldeans-hometown\/\" title=\"'The View' issues legal disclaimer for baseless claim about Aldean's hometown.\">bad\u200c high school acting student<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe added \u200dthere is not a single lyric in that song that references race or points to it, and there isn\u2019t a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-desantis-voice-support-for-country-music-star-jason-aldean\/\" title=\"Trump and DeSantis back Jason Aldean in country music.\">single video\u2062 clip<\/a> that isn\u2019t <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jason-aldean-responds-to-backlash-over-new-music-video-that-slams-leftist-policies\/\" title=\"Jason Aldean addresses criticism of music video criticizing leftist policies.\">real news footage<\/a>,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDid you ever hear of a dog whistle?\u201d the contemptible Joy Behar chimed in, with the\u200b sheer irony of that question seemingly flying over her \u200band Hostin\u2019s\u200d heads.<\/p>\n<p>Hostin continued with the \u2064\u201clegal note\u201d: \u201cAnd while I can try and respect others to\u200d have \u200dtheir own interpretation of a \u200bsong with music, this one goes too far.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This writer would disagree\u2062 with Aldean \u2014 <em>any<\/em> interpretation of a song is \u200bfair game. Art is always open to \u200bcritique, and music is art, after all.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2064 being said, obviously, there\u200c are good \u200binterpretations and bad interpretations. But Hostin\u2019s take on \u200d\u201cTry That\u200b in a Small Town\u201d\u200c was not an\u200c interpretation of anything.<\/p>\n<p>To Hostin, the evidence doesn\u2019t\u200d dictate the \u200dconclusion.\u200b The conclusion \u2062(in this case, \u201cJason\u200b Aldean is racist\u201d)\u2062 dictates the evidence. Hostin and crew had already \u2063judged \u2064the country star.<\/p>\n<p>To get to that point, they made bogus claims about Macon and were willfully obtuse about\u200b Aldean (some on the show loosely tried to defend\u2064 him under \u2063some First\u200c Amendment guise).<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s not an interpretation.
