But he has offered hints.<\/p>\n<p>Manchin has earned a\u2064 reputation as a \u201cmoderate\u201d or middle-way Democrat who is often at odds with the extreme leftists of the\u2064 Biden era. Even though most of his votes are down-the-line liberal, he has \u200bdiverged from\u200b the Democrat agenda in key ways.<\/p>\n<p>The conservative Heritage Foundation, for instance rates \u200chis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-jr-tells-gop-to-get-tough-if-democrats-are-playing-hardball-then-we-got-to-play-hardball\/\" title=\"Trump Jr. Tells GOP To Get Tough: If Democrats Are \u2018Playing Hardball\u2019 Then \u2018We Got To Play Hardball\u2019\">conservative leaning<\/a> as an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/manchin-still-mum-on-2024-president-run-but-is-his-pushback-on-third-party-spoiler-label-a-clue\/\" title=\"Manchin's Silence on 2024 Presidential Run: A Hint in His Opposition to Third-Party Spoiler Label?\">anemic 20 percent lifetime rating<\/a>, but\u2062 he has come down in line with several issues Heritage supports.<\/p>\n<p>Manchin has\u200b also moved to block Joe Biden\u2019s radical environment, social, and governance (ESG) agenda, has sided \u2063with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/americans-remember-the-48th-annual-march-for-life\/\" title=\"Americans remember the 48th annual March for Life\">pro-life activists<\/a>\u200b on many issues, and has moved repeatedly to block Joe Biden\u2019s job-killing climate agenda.<\/p>\n<p>So, after\u200b positioning himself as a centrist, \u2064it may not be surprising that the West Virginia Sen. is flirting with the idea of running for president as a third-party candidate.<\/p>\n<p>With that in mind, Manchin recently participated in a campaign-style\u2062 event\u200c with the \u201cNo Labels\u201d group, \u2064which has been threatening a run for 2024, with a candidate yet to \u2062be determined. But they are working toward a run.<\/p>\n<p>According to No Labels founder and CEO, Nancy\u200c Jacobson, \u2062the group is close to securing their goal of raising $70 million in order to launch a ballot access effort in all fifty states. Jacobson also says that the group plans to hold \u200ca convention in Dallas in April,\u2062 where they\u200b plan to \u200dpick a candidate \u200bto represent them in the 2024\u200d race for the\u200d White House.<\/p>\n<p>Will Manchin be that candidate? He isn\u2019t \u200dsaying.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019ll be next year,\u201d Manchin said, according to \u200cNBC News, adding, \u201cLet\u2019s see \u2063where everybody goes. Let\u2019s see what happens. His appearance at the No Labels event on Monday caused people to wonder if he was looking to serve as Manchin\u2019s VP candidate for\u2064 2024.<\/p>\n<p>When asked if he was thinking \u200bof running with Huntsman, Manchin insisted that \u201cJon us a dear \u2063friend,\u201d but\u200b added, \u201cI think people are getting their cart ahead of the horse. We\u2019re here to make sure that the American\u200c people have an option, and the option is: Can you move the political parties off their sides? They\u2019ve gone too far right and too\u2062 far left.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Still, that again sounds like positioning for a run.<\/p>\n<p>Manchin also \u200dhad a warning for the dominant parties. The Sen. said\u2064 that \u2064if No \u200cLabels did enter the race, both parties would be \u201cin trouble,\u201d Axios noted. Manchin also praised No Labels for \u201cmoving and pushing very hard, the centrist middle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So far, Manchin is keeping his cards close to his vest about accepting a \u200dnomination from the No Labels group.
