David DePape, a \u201chemp jewelry maker\u201d originally from Powell River, British\u2064 Columbia, was arrested \u200con October 28<sup>th<\/sup> in connection with\u200c the unsuspecting attack. \u2063 <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1\" style=\"min-width: 320px; min-height: 50px;  text-align: center;\">  \t<script>  \t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1'); });  \t<\/script>  <\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-slot__ad-label\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>DePape has since pled not guilty\u200c to charges of burglary, elder abuse, and attempted murder.<\/p>\n<p>His defense\u200c team is requesting that the trial be \u2062moved to Eureka, Oregon, claiming there is a \u200blikely chance \u200bthat a San Francisco jury would be\u200b biased against DePape since Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has represented\u2062 the city since 1987.<\/p>\n<p>Attorneys for the man charged in last year\u2019s attack on former U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi\u2019s\u2064 husband are pushing for his \u2064federal \u2064trial to be relocated out of San Francisco, claiming that the tremendous attention and liberal bias\u200b will prevent him from receiving a fair trial.<\/p>\n<p>DePape is due in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/federal-court-is-fast-tracking-sidney-powells-request-for-a-forensic-exam-of-dominion-voting-machines\/\" title=\"Federal Court Is Fast-Tracking Sidney Powell\u2019s Request For A Forensic Exam Of Dominion Voting Machines\">federal court<\/a> on \u2062Wednesday, and his\u200c defense team\u200d will petition the judge to relocate the trial to Eureka, Oregon. The federal trial is\u2062 scheduled to begin on November 13<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Jodi Linker and Angela Chuang, his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dont-get-to-pick-their-clients-judge-jackson-defends-representing-guantanamo-bay-detainees\/\" title=\"\u2018Don\u2019t Get To Pick Their Clients\u2019: Judge Jackson Defends Representing Guantanamo Bay Detainees\">federal public defenders<\/a>, claimed that media coverage of the case in the San Francisco Bay Area has polluted the pool of jurors. According to a \u200cstudy they conducted, many potential jurors already\u200c feel he is guilty \u200dof the\u2064 charges without even hearing his perspective.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors\u200c say DePape\u200c broke into the Pelosis\u2019 San Francisco home \u2064on Oct. \u206228<sup>th<\/sup> and battered her 83-year-old husband \u200dPaul with a hammer instead of kidnapping the former \u2062speaker, who was out of town at the time. The political world was shocked by the violent footage of \u2064the incident, as well as Paul Pelosi\u2019s strange 9-1-1 phone call to \u200bpolice where he originally said\u200b he would not \u200bneed back up while slurring his words. \u2063 <\/p>\n<p>In addition to pleading not\u2063 guilty to federal charges of trying \u200cto abduct a government \u2062official and injuring a family member of a federal official, he pleaded not \u2064guilty to state crimes such as attempted murder,\u2062 burglary, and elder abuse. He is still \u200bbeing \u200cheld without bail.<\/p>\n<p>After a California court dismissed prosecutors\u2019\u2062 attempts to keep the incident secret.
