Bootleg Fire surpasses 300K acres, forecasters predict gusty winds, low humidity ahead\">section chief<\/a> of the FBI\u2019s Foreign Influence Task Force (FITF).<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/660171560\/Jordan-Letter-To-FBI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">letter<\/a> to \u200dFBI Director Christopher Wray obtained by The Federalist,\u2062 Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee Jim Jordan outlined how \u201cDehmlow revealed \u200dthat the same\u2063 FBI personnel who \u200dwere warning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ga-poll-watcher-it-expert-non-trump-supporter-affidavit-sudden-surge-of-20000-mail-in-votes-for-biden-in-early-hours-on-nov\/\" title=\"GA Poll Watcher, IT Expert, Non-Trump Supporter Affidavit: Sudden Surge of 20,000 Mail-In-Votes For Biden In Early Hours On Nov\">social media companies<\/a> about a potential \u200bRussian \u2018hack and leak\u2019 operation in\u200d the run-up to the 2020 election knew that the laptop belonging to\u2062 Hunter Biden was not\u200b Russian disinformation.\u201d Dehmlow also testified \u200bthat previous FITF Section Chief Bradley Benavides and his subordinates who were tasked with\u2064 sniffing out Russian influence \u201cknew that Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop was real.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>And when directly asked by Twitter employees about the laptop\u2019s legitimacy in a meeting\u200d on the day the New York \u200bPost\u2019s bombshell story was published, an FBI analyst \u2064confirmed the laptop\u2019s legitimacy \u2014 before an FBI lawyer interrupted to declare the agency\u200b had \u201cno further comment.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cSomebody from Twitter essentially asked whether\u2063 the laptop was real. And one \u200cof \u200bthe FBI folks who was on the call did confirm that, \u2018yes, it was,\u2019 before another participant jumped in and said, \u2018no further comment,\u2019\u201d Dehmlow\u200c recalled in her testimony.<\/p>\n<p>Later that same day, the FBI told Facebook in a meeting that it \u200dhad \u201cno\u200d comment\u201d on the\u200b laptop.<\/p>\n<p>Even though it received quick confirmation about the laptop\u2019s legitimacy, Twitter joined Facebook in launching a censorship campaign that affected how\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/11\/24\/poll-one-in-six-biden-voters-would-have-changed-their-vote-if-they-had-known-about-scandals-suppressed-by-media\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a substantial\u2063 number of Americans<\/a> voted in the 2020 election. Anyone on Twitter who tried to share the link was barred\u200d from doing so. The New York Post was punished with a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/10\/14\/twitter-suspends-new-york-post-account-over-bombshell-hunter-biden-story\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">suspended account<\/a> that stayed locked for weeks. Facebook, similarly, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/10\/14\/facebook-is-now-officially-censoring-the-new-york-posts-hunter-biden-bombshell\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reduced\u200c the \u200cstory\u2019s reach<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Despite <a href=\"https:\/\/ago.mo.gov\/docs\/default-source\/press-releases\/doc-144-2---exhibit-a-chan.pdf?sfvrsn=2fc3c6f6_2\">participating<\/a> in more than two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fbi-told-twitter-hunter-biden-laptop-was-real-when-new-york-post-story-broke-then-hid-behind-big-tech-censors-disinfo-smear\/\" title=\"FBI confirmed Hunter Biden laptop's authenticity during New York Post story, but later relied on tech censorship to dismiss it as 'disinfo'.\">dozen intricate information-sharing meetings<\/a> and, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/23867004-08917380420?responsive=1&#038;title=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Missouri v. Biden<\/em> later revealed<\/a>, in censorship collusion with Silicon Valley giants\u2064 in the months leading up\u200b to the 2020 election, the FBI\u200d \u201cmade the institutional decision to refuse to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senate-republicans-oppose-biden-nominee-who-worked-for-chinese-tech-company\/\" title=\"Senate Republicans Oppose Biden Nominee Who Worked For Chinese Tech Company\">answer direct questions<\/a> from social media companies about the laptop\u2019s authenticity\u201d after shutting down \u200dthe analyst who initially admitted to Twitter that it was real.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, around the time the Post story dropped, the FBI was <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/05\/09\/cia-solicited-signatures-for-hunter-biden-laptop-letter-congressional-testimony-shows\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">one \u2062of the key agencies<\/a> \u2014 aided by <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/05\/11\/feds-started-a-dangerous-game-with-hunter-bidens-laptop-but-gop-lawmakers-can-finish-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">corporate media<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/04\/21\/ex-cia-official-blinken-prompted-infamous-intel-statement-calling-hunter-biden-laptop-russian-disinfo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Biden campaign<\/a> \u2014\u200d that <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/12\/19\/with-russia-hoaxer-jim-baker-on-the-inside-the-fbi-primed-twitter-to-kill-hunter-biden-story-long-before-it-broke\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">primed<\/a> Big Tech to believe that news detailing Biden family corruption based on \u2064data obtained from Hunter\u2019s laptop was Russian disinformation designed to manipulate the election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn one meeting on October 7, 2020 \u2014 just one week before the New York\u2062 Post article on\u2062 the Hunter Biden laptop was published \u2014 the agenda explicitly listed \u201cHack\/Leak Concerns\u201d as an\u200b item of discussion,\u201d Jordan wrote.<\/p>\n<p>The Federalist <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/08\/18\/exclusive-fbi-knew-of-hunter-bidens-missing-laptop-as-early-as-december-2019\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> in August 2021 that\u2062 the FBI was in possession of Hunter Biden\u2019s \u2063infamous laptop as early as December 2019. In \u2062his testimony to the House \u2062Ways and Means Committee, \u2063IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/22\/fbi-knew-hunter-bidens-laptop-was-authentic-a-year-before-pressuring-big-tech-to-censor-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">further confirmed<\/a> that the FBI verified the authenticity of the\u2063 laptop as early as November 2019 \u201cby matching the device number against \u2064Hunter Biden\u2019s\u200d Apple iCloud ID.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>FBI individuals quibbled about \u201cwhat\u2062 information\u201d they\u200c should \u201creveal to social media companies when asked\u200b in upcoming meetings\u201d to explain the laptop, Jordan said. Ultimately, the agency decided to stick to the \u201cno comment\u201d narrative until well \u200dafter the 2020 \u200delection was over.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cPut simply, after the FBI conditioned social media\u2064 companies \u200bto believe that the laptop was the product of a hack-and-dump operation, the Bureau stopped its information sharing,\u2062 allowing social media companies to conclude that the New York Post story was Russian disinformation,\u201d\u2062 Jordan explained.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan noted that a federal \u2063judge\u2019s recent \u2064memorandum \u2062ruling in <em>Missouri v. Biden<\/em> proved this censorship directly inhibited \u201cmillions of Americans from having a clear understanding about a salient issue in the 2020 presidential election.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If Hunter\u2019s laptop was truly the product of a Russian disinformation campaign\u2062 as so many suggested, the FBI\u2019s FITF had\u200c the authority to \u201cshare the specific details\u201d of that propaganda war, Dehmlow said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInstead, the refusal of FBI officials \u2014 the very officials who knew the laptop was real \u2014 \u200cto verify the authenticity of the laptop allowed widespread censorship about an otherwise accurate news \u2062story,\u201d Jordan concluded.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan demanded on behalf\u2062 of his committee that Wray \u200dname those in the FBI\u2019s FITF who knew of the laptop\u2019s authenticity but still advocated for the agency to stay quiet until after the\u2063 election. He also asked for all documents,\u200b records, and communications related to the FBI\u2019s meetings with Silicon Valley censors beginning in 2017 to be handed over by Aug. 3.
