According to\u2063 the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/courts\/trump-judge-cannon-denies-jack-smith-protective-order\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Washington Examiner<\/a>, the government&#8217;s filing indicated\u2064 that the Department of \u2064Justice wanted\u2063 certain materials to be off-limits to Trump&#8217;s lawyers.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Cannon, however, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courtlistener.com\/docket\/67490070\/united-states-v-trump\/?filed_after=&#038;filed_before=&#038;entry_gte=&#038;entry_lte=&#038;order_by=desc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rejected<\/a> the request, citing a lack of meaningful\u200c communication between the \u2064two sides.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecution&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.flsd.648652\/gov.uscourts.flsd.648652.79.0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">court filing<\/a> highlighted\u200b that the\u2064 Classified Information Procedures Act \u2063allows the \u200bcourt to issue\u2062 an order \u2063to protect against the disclosure of \u200b<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-73976-ballots-released-by-maricopa-county-56-1-for-donald-trump\/\" title=\"BREAKING: 73,976 Ballots Released By Maricopa County \u2014 56.1% FOR DONALD TRUMP\">classified information<\/a> to any defendant in a criminal case upon the request\u200b of the United States.<\/p>\n<p>The issue at hand \u2064seems to be the insufficient time given\u200b to Trump&#8217;s defense \u2064team to respond to the \u2064prosecution&#8217;s request for a protective order.<\/p>\n<p>According \u200cto the filing, the government \u200csent the proposed\u2063 order to Trump&#8217;s team on July 12 and received objections from \u200dthe defense.
