Kennedy \u2064Jr. responded \u200cto relentless attacks from Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2063 hearing focused on federal \u2062government censorship of certain stories and viewpoints, with Mr. Kennedy serving as the star witness.\u200b As an\u200d advocate for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rfk-jr-responds-to-democrat-attacks-at-weaponization-hearing\/\" title=\"RFK Jr. counters Democrat criticism during Weaponization Hearing.\">enhanced vaccine safety screening<\/a> and\u2064 research into the\u2062 effects of pharmaceutical drugs, he faced attempts\u200b to deplatform him\u2063 by \u200cDemocrats.<\/p>\n<p>Despite calls to cancel the hearing due to controversial\u200c remarks made by \u2064Mr. Kennedy, claiming\u2062 that the COVID-19 virus affected different racial groups\u2064 unequally, Chairman Jim Jordan and \u200dSpeaker of the House Kevin\u200d McCarthy rejected \u200dthese demands. However, he emphasized\u2062 that this couldn&#8217;t \u200dbe achieved without the First Amendment and open \u2062debate.<\/p>\n<p>To\u200c illustrate his point, he mentioned his removal from YouTube after a\u200b speech where he discussed these issues.\u200d Despite not mentioning \u200cvaccines or any forbidden subjects, he was &#8220;deplatformed&#8221;\u2062 within five minutes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDebate\u2014congenial,\u2063 respectful debate\u2014is the\u200d fertilizer, it\u2019s the water, it\u2019s the sunlight for \u2063our democracy,\u201d\u2063 Mr. Kennedy passionately stated.<\/p>\n<p>He also \u200dhighlighted a letter\u2064 signed\u200b by \u200dfellow \u2064Democrats calling for\u200d the cancellation of his \u2063appearance before Congress, stating that \u2062it was \u2064evidence of the very problem the hearing\u2062 aimed \u200bto address. He described it as an attempt to censor a censorship hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Kennedy concluded \u200dby referencing his late father, Attorney General Robert F.
