Version: 4.0.47--><div \u200dclass=\"post_content\">\n\u2063  <\/p>\n<h2>Whistleblowers\u200c Stand \u200cFirm on Claims \u200dof\u200c DOJ Interference in \u200dHunter Biden \u200dInvestigation<\/h2>\n<p>Whistleblowers\u2062 from the\u200c Internal Revenue \u200bService (IRS) \u200don July 19\u2062 held their \u2064ground on claims that U.S. Attorney\u200c David Weiss\u2019s authority to\u2064 prosecute Hunter Biden\u200b was limited by \u2062others \u2063in the Department\u2063 of Justice (DOJ).<\/p>\n<p>\u2063  \u200c<\/p>\n<p>The claims, made \u200bby IRS supervisor and investigator Gary Shapley joined by \u2063newly-identified whistleblower\u200c Joseph \u200bZiegler, \u200dcontradict earlier claims made by Mr. Weiss and \u2064Attorney \u200dGeneral Merrick Garland \u200babout the\u2064 felony\u2062 tax\u200d fraud investigation into Hunter Biden.<\/p>\n<p> \u200c\u2062 <\/p>\n<p>On \u2063June 22,\u200b House Ways \u200cand \u200cMeans \u2064Committee \u200cChairman Jason Smith,\u2062 who oversees \u200cthe \u2064committee\u2063 responsible for publicizing the IRS allegations, revealed \u2064the\u200c claims that the \u200cIRS \u2062and\u200d DOJ had \u200cgiven \u201cpreferential \u200dtreatment\u201d\u200c to President Joe\u2063 Biden\u2019s\u2063 son.<\/p>\n<p>\u2064  <\/p>\n<p>They claimed that federal agencies <a\u2064 href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/hunter-biden-received-preferential-treatment-from-irs-doj-over-felony-tax-fraud-investigation-irs-whistleblowers_5349754.html\">interfered<\/a>\u200d in an\u200d IRS\u2062 investigation into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/irs-whistleblowers-contest-claims-that-doj-prosecutor-had-full-authority-on-hunter-biden-case\/\" title=\"IRS whistleblowers contest claims of DOJ prosecutor's 'full authority' on Hunter Biden case.\">felony tax \u200cfraud \u200drelated<\/a> \u200dto\u2063 millions\u2064 of \u200ddollars of unreported foreign income to \u2063Hunter \u200cBiden.<\/p>\n<p> \u200b <\/p>\n<p>Despite \u2062ultimately\u200b recommending two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-major-revelations-from-the-hunter-biden-whistleblower-hearing\/\" title=\"Key Revelations from Hunter Biden Whistleblower Hearing\">felony \u2062counts<\/a>\u200b against\u200d Hunter Biden, none of \u200bthese more serious\u200b counts were ultimately\u200d executed \u2063against him. \u2063Instead,\u200d Hunter \u2063Biden \u200bmade\u200b an\u200d agreement to \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/president-trump-please-pardon-jon-woods-a-victim-of-process-crimes-like-michael-flynn\/\" title=\"President Trump, Please Pardon Jon Woods, a Victim of Process Crimes Like Michael Flynn\">plead guilty<\/a> \u2063to\u200d two lesser tax charges \u200dand a\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ivy-league-firebombers-pled-guilty-face-10-years-under-terror-law\/\" title=\"Ivy League Firebombers Pled Guilty, Face 10 Years Under Terror Law\">charge relating<\/a> to \u2062the \u2064illegal\u200c possession\u200b of\u2064 a firearm,\u200d an agreement Republicans scoffed at as \u2062a \u201csweetheart deal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> \u200c \u2063<\/p>\n<p>Whistleblowers said\u2063 in their \u200boriginal \u2062disclosures that \u2063this fact\u200b is \u200cin \u2064part due to\u200c limitations \u200cplaced\u200c on \u2062Mr. \u2064Weiss\u2019 authority,\u2063 which \u2062according to the\u2063 claims has\u2064 been\u200b a\u2064 focal point\u2062 of controversy.<\/p>\n<p> \u2063 <\/p>\n<p>Mr. Garland has \u2063<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/garland-denies-irs-whistleblower-claims-of-interference-with-biden-case_5353026.html\">denied<\/a>\u2062 any DOJ interference in\u2063 the \u200ccase into \u200bthe\u200c president\u2019s son\u2019s\u2063 tax \u200brecords.<\/p>\n<p> \u200b \u200d<figure\u200d id=\"attachment_5353804\" style=\"width: 600px\"\u2064 class=\"wp-caption \u2064alignnone\">\n \u2063 \u200b  \u200d<a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/06\/23\/id5353804-Garland-GettyImages-1500918367-1200x800.jpg\"><br \/>\n\u2063      \u200c<figcaption \u200cclass=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><\/noscript><\/figcaption>\u200c   <\/a><br \/>\n \u2064 \u200b  U.S. Attorney \u200cGeneral Merrick \u200bGarland \u2062speaks \u200bat the Department \u200cof\u200d Justice\u2019s Robert\u200c F. \u2063Kennedy building \u2062in \u2064Washington\u200c on\u200c June\u2063 23,\u200c 2023. (Madalina Vasiliu\/The\u200c Epoch \u2063Times)<br \/>\n\u2062 \u2064 <\/figure>\n<p> \u2062\u200d <\/p>\n<p>Mr.\u200c Garland earlier cited a\u2062 letter \u2063Mr. Weiss sent\u2063 to the \u200dHouse Judiciary\u200c Committee \u200dsaying that he did indeed have\u2063 full\u2064 authority over the \u2064investigation.\u200b However,\u200c Mr. Weiss \u2064has \u200csince \u200dwalked\u2062 back those\u2063 original\u200c claims, confessing\u2064 that his \u200dauthority\u200d was\u2062 limited\u200c to \u200da\u2064 specific \u200dgeographical \u200darea\u2014the\u200c Delaware\u2063 district he\u2063 oversees.<\/p>\n<p> \u200b <\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Mr. \u2063Weiss has refuted in a letter the whistleblowers\u2019 suggestion \u200dthat\u2064 he requested and\u2064 was \u2064denied\u200c special counsel\u2063 status\u200c (<a \u200chref=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/f\/?id=00000189-403e-d0a8-a59b-dffe47490000\">pdf<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p> \u2064\u2063 <\/p>\n<p>On the other\u2064 hand,\u2063 he acknowledged\u200c that\u2064 he\u200d had\u2064 discussed being granted permission\u200d to press\u200c charges outside\u2062 of\u200b Delaware.\u2064 While\u2064 expressing confidence that this would\u200b be allowed\u200c \u201cif it proved\u2062 necessary,\u201d \u200dMr.\u2062 Weiss has \u200dnot \u200dreceived\u2062 any special status \u2062related \u2064to\u200d the \u2062investigation of\u200b Hunter Biden.<\/p>\n<p> \u200d <\/p>\n<h2>Whistleblower Doubles \u200bDown<\/h2>\n<p>But, going\u200b against claims to the contrary, the\u200d whistleblowers \u2062doubled down \u200bon their \u200dposition,\u2064 contesting\u2064 the \u2064narrative presented \u200dby Mr. Weiss and Mr.\u2063 Garland.<\/p>\n<p> \u200d <\/p>\n<p>When \u200casked \u2063how the \u2064American \u200bpeople could trust that\u2062 the investigation of\u200b Hunter Biden would be\u2064 fair, \u200bMr. Shapley\u2063 said\u200d in\u2063 a \u2064reference\u2063 to Mr. Garland\u2019s April 2022 appearance before Congress:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by the DOJ.
