Adam Schiff (D-Burbank), who \u200dhas been serving in the House \u2064of \u2064Representatives\u2063 for \u206212 \u2063terms.\u2063 Schiff\u200b has managed to\u200b amass\u2062 nearly $15 \u2063million in donations\u2062 from January \u200b1 \u2063to\u2062 June\u200b 30, with\u2063 the majority\u2062 of contributions \u200ccoming from \u2064individual \u2064supporters.\u200b In\u200b fact, he has\u200c received \u2062a\u200c staggering \u2064$14.8 million from individuals alone.<\/p>\n<p>Despite spending \u2063approximately \u200c$6.3 million, Schiff still\u2064 has\u200d an impressive $30\u200d million \u200bin\u200d his campaign war \u2064chest, as reported\u2062 in the FEC filings.<\/p>\n<figure \u2064id=\"attachment_4095783\" style=\"width:\u2063 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n   \u2062 \u2063<figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><\/noscript> Rep.\u2062 Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) \u2064is\u200b seen in\u2063 Washington \u200don \u2064Sept. 21, \u200d2021. Having first taken office\u2064 in Congress\u2064 in 2001, his\u2064 war \u2064chest is nearly\u200c three times larger \u2063than that of \u2064current frontrunner Rep. \u2064Katie \u2063Porter.<\/p>\n<p> \u2063 <\/p>\n<h3>Katie \u2064Porter Gains\u2064 Momentum<\/h3>\n<p>Porter,\u200d a progressive congresswoman who narrowly \u2064secured \u2063her\u200d second term in\u200b 2022, \u2063announced her\u200d candidacy \u200din January and has since collected\u200c an impressive $18.7\u200b million in donations. Despite \u200cspending approximately $8.3 million this year, she still has\u2063 a \u2062significant $10.4\u200d million in cash \u200con hand.<\/p>\n<p>Another contender for\u200d the\u2063 Senate seat is \u2063Rep. Barbara\u200d Lee \u2064(D-Oakland), \u200cwho has \u200bcollected over $2.3 million and spent $937,000, leaving\u2064 her with\u2062 $1.4 million\u200d in\u2063 cash on hand, \u2063according to \u2063the\u2063 latest FEC filings.<\/p>\n<h2>Race \u200cTightens as Polls \u200bShow\u2064 Shift<\/h2>\n<p> \u200d <\/p>\n<p>A\u200d recent survey\u2062 of California\u2062 voters conducted by \u200cthe nonpartisan\u2063 think tank\u200d Public\u200b Policy \u200cInstitute \u200dof \u200cCalifornia reveals \u2063a\u2063 tightening\u2064 race\u200b between Porter and \u2064Schiff.<\/p>\n<p>\u200d  <\/p>\n<p>In the survey,\u2062 Porter emerged as the frontrunner with 19 percent\u2062 of \u200dthe \u200bvote, followed closely by Schiff at \u206316\u2063 percent and Lee at\u200d 13 percent.<\/p>\n<p> \u2063 <figure\u2064 id=\"attachment_5389532\" style=\"width:\u200b 600px\" class=\"wp-caption\u200c alignnone\">\n  \u2064<figcaption\u2064 class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><\/noscript> \u200bCongresswoman Katie\u200d Porter (D-CA) \u200cspeaks in Irvine,\u200d Calif., on Oct. 14, 2022. Early secured\u2062 18 \u2064percent of the \u2064vote, closely followed\u200b by Porter with 17 \u2063percent\u200d and Schiff \u2064with 14 percent. He\u2064 has \u2062received approximately\u2062 $200,000 from individual donors, bringing \u2063his \u2062total\u2064 collection to around $226,000.
