These are pills \u200dthat\u200b these \u200dkids may\u2064 think\u2063 are\u200d Adderall or Xanax and they are laced \u200bwith fentanyl,\u201d Harris\u00a0said \u200dat a White \u200bHouse\u200b meeting with attorneys\u200b general\u2062 present. \u201cWe must \u200dbe clear and concise about the seriousness \u2063of this\u2062 and\u2064 we must\u200c be\u200b clear-eyed\u2062 as\u2063 a \u200dnation about \u200cwhat is\u200d happening,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u2064 <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u200b  \u200d \u2063 <\/p>\n<p>Harris claimed \u2064that fentanyl, a potent synthetic\u200b opioid, is the \u200btop cause of mortality among those \u2063aged \u206318 \u2063to\u200c 42.<\/p>\n<p>Kamala has \u200dalso come under fire \u200cnumerous\u2063 times for claiming that \u200bgun\u2062 deaths \u2063are the leading cause of death for children \u200cin\u200c America, \u200casserting\u2063 that \u200cCongress\u2063 should\u2062 ban \u2064all assault\u200d weapons. A <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"\u200b href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/injury\/features\/child-injury\/index.html\" \u2064target=\"_blank\">CDC fact-check<\/a> \u2062showed that \u2062the only \u2063way that could\u2062 be true \u200dis if \u2062she was excluding children\u200c under one-years-old and if she counted\u200b both 18-year-olds and 19-year-olds\u2063 in the demographic.<\/p>\n<p>The vice\u200b president\u2019s recent comments \u2063on fentanyl-laced drugs confused \u2063many, since the majority of\u2063 Americans\u2062 are fully aware that\u2064 Biden\u2019s \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/why-joe-bidens-foreign-policy-reset-will-be-a-disaster\/\" title=\"Why Joe Biden\u2019s Foreign Policy \u2018Reset\u2019 Will Be A Disaster\">open border policies<\/a>\u2063 and the end \u2062of <a \u2064href=\"https:\/\/www.oann.com\/video\/oan-contribution\/the-consequences-of-bidens-open-border-may-get-worse-after-expiration-of-title-42\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer \u2063noopener\">Title\u2062 42<\/a>, which \u200bHarris\u200c has\u2063 consistently \u2064supported,\u200d are \u2062major reasons why\u200c these \u201cfake\u201d pills \u200dand overdoses caused by them\u200b are\u2063 becoming\u2064 more \u2063prevalent.<\/p>\n<p>   \u2063 \u200b<\/p>\n<p>Mexican gangs reportedly \u2063use Chinese\u200d precursor chemicals to \u200bpress \u200bfentanyl \u200dinto counterfeit pills, \u200bwhich then kill\u2063 unsuspecting \u200dconsumers in the United\u200b States when they\u200b are \u2062trafficked\u2062 across the \u200bMexican\u2062 border \u200cand into\u2064 the\u200d U.S.<\/p>\n<p> \u200d \u2062  \u2063<\/p>\n<blockquote \u200cclass=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cIt is basically counterfeit.\u2063 They are being \u2064marketed,\u2063 these pills, as though they \u200bare \u2062some\u2062 other type of drug\u200d but \u2063they are\u200d in fact laced \u2062with\u2062 fentanyl.\u2062 We are\u2062 seeing a lot of\u2062 that\u200c happen,\u201d\u2062 Harris\u00a0said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According\u200d to \u200cthe \u200bmost recent\u200c official data, around\u2063 109,000\u200c people \u200bdied \u200bin the United\u2064 States\u2062 from\u2063 drug\u200d overdoses in a\u2063 12-month \u200bperiod ending in \u2064February.<\/p>\n<p>   \u2062 \u2064<\/p>\n<p>While the toll remains far too high,\u200c Biden administration officials \u200bare \u2062also claiming \u200csimultaneously that the \u2062incidence \u200cof overdoses has\u2062 stabilized\u200d in \u20632022 and\u2062 2023, \u200dfollowing a continuous\u200d climb\u200c from\u200b 2019\u200b to \u200c2021.
