Jean Carroll \u200ccivil \u2063suit \u200dhas\u2064 been denied.<\/p>\n<p>Carroll, \u2063a journalist, accused the former\u2062 president of\u2064 <strong>raping and defaming\u2064 her<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In\u2064 May, a\u200c New \u200dYork \u200cjury\u2064 didn\u2019t \u200bfind \u200dTrump\u2063 guilty\u2064 of\u2063 rape\u200c but did \u200c<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/trump-rape-carroll-trial-fe68259a4b98bb3947d42af9ec83d7db\" \u2062target=\"_blank\" \u200brel=\"noopener\">find \u2064him \u2062guilty<\/a> of \u2064sexual abuse.<\/p>\n<p>He was\u200b subsequently \u2062ordered to \u200dpay \u2064Carroll \u2063$5 million.\u200d Included\u200d in\u200c the\u200c total \u2063sum was $2 \u200bmillion\u2064 for \u200dcompensatory damages\u200c and \u2064$1.7 for reputational damages.<\/p>\n<p>According \u200dto <a \u2063href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/judge-denies-trumps-request-new-trial-jean-carroll\/story?id=101485996\" target=\"_blank\" \u200brel=\"noopener\">ABC News<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-unhappy-arkansas-gov-sarah-huckabee-sanders-report\/\" \u200dtarget=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump<\/a> \u200csought a retrial after the May verdict but was \u2063denied \u200cWednesday by Judge Lewis \u200bKaplan.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Trump Denies Accusation\u2064 and Reacts to\u200b Ruling<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cI HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA\u200b WHO \u200dTHIS\u2064 WOMAN \u2064IS.
