Cruz\u200b and Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee asking if Bud \u2064Light\u2019s partnership with \u2063Mulvaney <a\u200c href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ted-cruz-gives-anheuser-buschs-ceo-bad-news-letter-sets-deadline-comply\/\" \u200dtarget=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">violated \u2062an industry code\u2019s<\/a> \u201cprohibition\u200b on marketing \u2063to minors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The\u2063 letter \u2014 which detailed\u200b various\u2064 Mulvaney\u200c TikTok\u2063 videos that \u2062appeared geared toward \u200ca\u200b much younger audience than those of legal drinking\u200d age \u2014 called \u200cBud\u200d Light\u2019s Mulvaney partnership \u201cstarkly\u2064 similar to the discredited and now\u2062 illegal marketing campaigns\u2064 of cigarette \u200dmanufacturers that used\u2064 youth-favored \u200cadvertising tools such \u200das \u2018Joe\u200c Camel\u2019 in an attempt to develop \u2063early\u2064 brand loyalty\u2064 with children who\u200b were\u2063 legally \u200cprohibited \u2064from smoking cigarettes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It cited <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/viral-video-bud-light-exec-reveals-woke-company-feels-past-customers\/\"\u2063 target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">comments \u2062made<\/a> \u2063by Alissa Heinerscheid, the\u200c Bud\u200c Light\u2064 executive responsible\u200b for\u2062 the \u200dMulaney partnership, during \u200ban interview that became \u200cpublic in \u2062March stating that,\u2062 \u201cThis brand is in decline, \u2064it\u2019s been \u200cin a decline for\u200d a really long time, and \u2064if \u200cwe do not\u200b attract young drinkers to come and \u200bdrink this brand\u200d there\u200b will be \u200bno\u2063 future for\u200c Bud Light.\u2019\u201d \u200b(Heinerscheid, along\u200b with\u2063 her boss,\u2062 were\u200d placed\u2062 on \u2063a leave of \u200babsence <a\u200b href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/second-bud-light-exec-put-leave-aftermath-company-going-woke-report\/\" \u200ctarget=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">amid the debacle.<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>When the\u2062 senators got \u2063no satisfactory response, Cruz in\u200b June sent \u200cthe Beer Institute \u200da <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commerce.senate.gov\/services\/files\/1FE20A67-A4EF-4E08-8F12-B71044380772\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lengthy memo<\/a> \u201cchallenging <em><strong>all<\/strong><\/em> advertising\u2064 and\u2064 marketing \u200cmaterials stemming from Anheuser-Busch\u2019s\u2064 partnership with Mulvaney.\u201d (Emphasis\u200b in \u2062the original.)<\/p>\n<p>The board\u2019s decision Tuesday\u2062 was in Bud Light\u2019s favor, according to \u200ba <a\u2062 href=\"https:\/\/www.commerce.senate.gov\/2023\/7\/former-state-judge-and-ag-sides-with-sen-cruz-on-bud-light-s-controversial-dylan-mulvaney-campaign\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news release<\/a> issued\u2062 Tuesday\u200c by\u200c the Senate Committee \u200don \u2064Science,\u200c Commerce and Transportation,\u2064 where\u200d Cruz\u2062 is \u2062the <a \u2064href=\"https:\/\/www.commerce.senate.gov\/2023\/2\/sen-cruz-announces-subcommittee-ranking-members-for-118th-congress\" \u200btarget=\"_blank\" \u2064rel=\"noopener\">ranking\u2063 Republican<\/a> in\u200b the GOP \u200dminority.<\/p>\n<p>But the \u200closing \u2063vote \u2014 cast by\u200b former Tennessee\u2064 state Judge \u200bPaul\u200d Summers\u2063 \u2014 spoke \u200dloudest, \u2064Cruz said \u200cin\u2064 the \u2062news release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the\u200d first \u2063time a review board\u2063 member \u2014 and notably,\u200c the board\u2019s \u200bonly lawyer \u2014\u2062 has concluded that a \u200bbrewer violated\u2064 industry code prohibiting \u2064the marketing of \u200balcoholic beverages to\u200c underage\u200b individuals,\u201d Cruz\u200c said in the\u2063 release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI \u200bapplaud Judge\u2063 Summers for \u200bhaving the\u200c courage to state what is\u2063 self-evident: \u2064Mulvaney\u2019s persona \u200c\u2018looks and acts like a \u2064little girl\u2019 and\u200d \u2018appeals to little children \u2063and \u2062often \u2064behaves like\u2063 one.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s \u2064a brutal\u200b description \u2064of\u2064 Mulvaney\u2019s grating persona,\u200c but\u2062 it\u2019s fitting. \u2064Under the guise\u2062 of \u200cliving \u2064a\u200b \u201ctransgender\u201d life, \u200bhe presents a caricature of feminity that comes\u2062 across as \u200dsomewhere between a hyperactive \u206211-year-old girl and a narcissistic teenager \u2014\u2063 neither of whom are \u200dold enough\u200c to drink.\u200c (The fact \u2063that \u2062the\u2064 seems\u200b to need \u2062a shave \u200bhalf \u200cthe\u200b time he\u2019s wearing a \u2063tutu\u200c just makes the act more \u200bstomach-turning.)<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Mulvaney\u2019s chief claim \u200dto fame before\u200c the \u2063Bud Light burnout\u200c was\u2064 a\u200b series\u200c of TikTok\u200c videos called \u201c365 Days\u2064 of Girlhood.\u201d\u200b Individuals in \u201cgirlhood\u201d are \u2063also not\u2062 of \u200b<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fact-check-has-the-legal-drinking-age-in-south-carolina-been-lowered-to-18-years-old\/\" title=\"FACT CHECK: Has The Legal Drinking Age In South Carolina Been Lowered To 18 Years Old?\">legal drinking age<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As Summers wrote, according to \u2064the committee\u2019s news release:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe \u200bentertainer enjoyed being\u200c accepted \u2062by \u2063young \u200bchildren. The actor\u200d celebrated the \u200d365 days of \u2018Girlhood.\u2019\u2064 An actor, \u200bentertainer,\u2064 or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/americans-send-bud-light-a-brutal-message-with-july-4-sales-numbers\/\" title=\"July 4 Sales Numbers Deliver Brutal Message to Bud Light from Americans.\">social media\u2064 influencer<\/a>,\u200b Mulvaney appeals \u2064to persons \u200cbelow\u200d the legal \u200ddrinking\u2062 age with\u2064 a\u2062 \u2018special attractiveness.\u2019 \u2063Mulvaney\u200c is especially attractive\u2064 to\u200b young teens \u2064and girls; is often\u200b recognized \u2063as \u2062preadolescent; and caters to very young \u200cpeople. [Anheuser-Busch] knew all this,\u200c or the \u200ccompany\u2019s leadership \u2064should\u200d have known.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The board\u2019s vote likely\u200d decides the question \u2064\u2014\u200c at \u2062least \u200bofficially \u2014 about whether Bud Light\u2019s\u2062 marketing was\u200c deliberately \u2063intended\u2063 to\u200c influence \u2063underage individuals. There\u2019s\u200b a fine \u2064line \u200dbetween \u200cthe \u2062<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lone-member-splits-with-beer-compliance-board-says-bud-light-violated-code-by-marketing-to-minors\/\" title=\"Member splits with Beer Compliance Board, claims Bud Light violated code by targeting minors.\">youthful demographic beer companies traditionally\u200c target<\/a> and those who are \u200bonly\u200c a few\u2063 years \u2063younger. And\u200b the majority\u2063 of \u2064the board \u2063found in the brand\u2019s favor.<\/p>\n<p>But Summers\u2019 observations \u2062didn\u2019t \u200bdo Bud\u2063 Light any favors.<\/p>\n<p>The company has\u200c already \u200b<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/official-bud-light-loses-top-selling-beer-status-us-brand-now-king\/\"\u2062 target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lost its\u2064 top spot<\/a>\u2063 among American beers with a disastrous\u200c decision to partner with an \u2062<a\u2063 href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/dylan-mulvaney-leaves-us-claims-leave-country-feel-safe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emotionally disturbed \u200dman-child<\/a> pretending \u200dto be \u200da\u200c woman.
