Matt Gaetz announced on\u2063 Tuesday \u200bhis \u2063plan to introduce a bill \u2064to defund \u200bSpecial \u200dCounsel Jack Smith&#8217;s grand\u200d jury\u2064 investigation into the \u200cJan. \u200d6 \u2063Capitol riot and \u2063efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">Gaetz took to\u200b Twitter \u200dto share his intentions,\u200c stating, &#8220;I will be \u200bintroducing legislation \u2064to \u2062DEFUND\u2064 Jack Smith&#8217;s witch hunt against\u2062 President Trump.&#8221; This comes\u200d just hours after former President Donald Trump confirmed on\u2064 social \u200dmedia that he had been \u2062notified he was\u200d a target in the investigation and expected\u2062 to face\u200c an arrest \u200cand indictment.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They \u200bare attacking our democracy \u200cand\u200d engaging in\u200b election interference \u200cright now.
