Mayor Garcetti Nominated As Ambassador To India\">bold climate action<\/a> \u200bwhile \u200ddelivering \u2063on our promise \u2064to utilize\u2063 every \u200dtool\u2063 at our disposal \u200dto\u200c combat\u2063 the intensifying climate \u2064crisis.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>  \u200b  \u2064\u2063  <\/p>\n<p>Murphy&#8217;s \u2063proposal aligns New\u2064 Jersey with \u2064California and other\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/worker-shortages-cause-garbage-buildup-and-not-just-in-blue-states\/\" title=\"Worker Shortages Cause Garbage Buildup \u2014 And Not Just In Blue States\">deep-blue states<\/a>. The Democrat&#8217;s\u200d electric car rule, \u2063Advanced Clean Cars\u2063 II,\u2062 originated in California\u2014the state&#8217;s Air\u200b Resources\u2064 Board \u2063approved \u2064it in\u200b August\u2063 2022\u2062 and today says \u2064it\u2064 requires &#8220;all \u2062new passenger vehicles\u2063 sold in \u2062California to \u2062be\u200b zero \u200cemissions by 2035.&#8221; Murphy, who succeeded \u200bRepublican governor\u200d Chris \u200cChristie, \u2062<a\u2063 href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.com\/politics\/2018\/01\/phil_murphy_entrance_interview.html\">told<\/a> former Golden \u2063State governor Jerry Brown \u200bin 2018 that he\u200b aspires to make \u2064New\u2063 Jersey \u2062&#8221;the \u200bCalifornia of \u200bthe\u2063 East \u200dCoast.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u200c   \u2063   <\/p>\n<p>Murphy in \u200da Monday press\u2062 release\u200c touted the proposed rule, which he\u200b said\u200d &#8220;does\u200c not \u200bimpose\u200d any \u2063obligations\u200d on\u2062 consumers\u2063 or\u200c car\u2064 dealers.&#8221; Republicans\u200c quickly \u200bcriticized \u200bthat\u200d claim, with\u200b state \u200blawmaker \u200dEd\u200b Durr\u200d <a \u200chref=\"https:\/\/www.shorenewsnetwork.com\/2023\/07\/19\/gas-guzzlers-for-me-but-not-for-thee-murphy-ripped-over-ev-hypocrisy\/\">saying<\/a> Murphy&#8217;s &#8220;extreme energy policies will\u2064 force \u2063people\u2062 to replace their\u2063 affordable\u2062 gas-powered cars with more \u2064expensive EVs.&#8221;\u200d Durr also\u200b called Murphy a \u200bhypocrite \u200dwho\u2063 recently used\u2063 &#8220;taxpayer dollars\u200c to\u200c purchase a fleet \u200cof \u200cnew gas-powered SUVs \u200dto \u2063shuttle \u200bhim and\u2062 other\u200b Democrat\u2063 leaders\u2064 across\u2064 the \u2064state.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p> \u200c   \u200b\u2062  <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s\u2062 like\u2062 John \u2062Kerry \u2062with his \u200cmultiple mansions flying\u200c around the world \u200con his\u2062 private\u2062 jet while telling the rest\u200b of \u2062us that we&#8217;re responsible\u200c for climate change,&#8221; \u2062Durr said. \u2063&#8221;The\u2064 rest of \u2062us\u200d are forced to \u200dsuffer while\u2063 they \u200bare \u200bthe \u200creal problem.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u2063     \u200d <\/p>\n<p>New Jersey environmentalists defended\u200d the \u200delectric\u200d vehicle \u200dmandate, \u2062with the state&#8217;s \u2064Sierra \u2062Club calling\u2063 the \u200cprogram &#8220;one of the most \u2063important\u2063 policies \u2063for\u200d New \u200bJersey\u200c to adopt.&#8221;\u2064 Some experts, however, \u2064doubt that\u200d electric vehicles will \u200dactually help the environment.\u200d Electric\u2062 vehicles require large amounts of mined, processed, and\u2062 refined minerals to be built, meaning\u200d the cars roll \u2063off the lot\u2063 having produced considerably more carbon\u200b emissions than\u2063 their \u2062gas-powered\u2062 counterparts.
