They commissioned a\u200d survey that revealed many \u2062prospective jurors \u200balready believe DePape is guilty \u2063and would be\u2062 unable to change their opinions.<\/p>\n<p>According \u200bto prosecutors, DePape broke into \u2062the \u200cPelosis&#8217; San Francisco\u200d home\u200b on October 28 with the \u200bintention \u2062of kidnapping the former speaker, who was out of town. Instead, he viciously \u2064attacked her 83-year-old \u2063<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/breaking-paul-pelosi-bodycam-footage-finally-released-watch\/\" target=\"_blank\" \u2064rel=\"noopener\">husband with a hammer<\/a>. The shocking\u200c act \u2063of violence reverberated \u200dthroughout the \u200bpolitical world.<\/p>\n<p>DePape has pleaded not guilty \u2063to\u2064 federal charges of attempting to kidnap\u200b a federal\u2063 official and\u200c assaulting\u2062 a federal official&#8217;s \u200dfamily member.
