For \u200cdecades intellectuals and those \u200con\u2062 the political Left have argued that there are no meaningful distinctions between\u200d men and women beyond the physical \u2013 and even the \u2062physical differences are\u200b denied\u200d by\u2063 gender\u2064 ideology, which \u200dhas produced such bizarre linguistic \u2063contortions as \u201cbirthing person\u201d or \u200c\u201cperson with \u2062a\u200b penis\u201d \u2063and reduced\u200c the \u2062categories \u2062of \u200c\u201cwoman\u201d and\u200d \u201cman\u201d into arbitrary, subjective sludge.<\/p>\n<p>At the \u2063same time, \u2063an \u2063increasing body of <a href=\"https:\/\/stanmed.stanford.edu\/how-mens-and-womens-brains-are-different\/\"\u200d target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">scientific\u200c research<\/a>\u200b supports what sensible\u2063 people have known since \u2064time immemorial \u2013 men \u200band \u200bwomen \u2064are complementary opposites \u2064with different\u2063 ways of \u200dthinking, doing, and being.<\/p>\n<h3>The\u2063 Complementary Opposites<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cOf\u2064 course, men and women\u2064 have\u2064 a tremendous amount in common,\u201d Dennis Prager,\u2063 founder \u200cof \u200bPragerU, clarified.\u2062 Research indicates that men and \u200dwomen have the same average intelligence, for example, and\u2064 members \u2064of both\u2063 sexes are still\u2063 moral agents with the\u2064 capacity to\u200c do\u2062 good or\u200d evil, although the set of temptations each sex will \u2064face differs.<\/p>\n<p>But similarly robust \u2064data indicates\u2064 that\u2064 men \u2063and women\u2062 differ drastically \u2062in \u200bmedian\u2064 <a \u200dhref=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/future\/article\/20161011-do-men-and-women-really-have-different-personalities\" target=\"_blank\" \u200drel=\"noopener\">temperament<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/19883140\/#:~:text=Men%20showed%20stronger%20Realistic%20(d,d%20%3D%20%2D0.33)%20interests.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interests<\/a>, <a \u2064href=\"https:\/\/www.jstor.org\/stable\/26913183?seq=5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">political persuasion<\/a>, attitudes towards \u200d<a \u2062href=\"https:\/\/www.huffpost.com\/entry\/the-parenting-gender-gap_b_11430888\">child rearing<\/a>, <a\u200d href=\"https:\/\/psychcentral.com\/blog\/relationship-corner\/2018\/01\/female-vs-male-friendships-10-key-differences#3\" \u200dtarget=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">relationships<\/a>, and\u2064 <a\u2062 href=\"https:\/\/scitechdaily.com\/what-factors-matter-in-sexual-attraction-for-men-and-women-of-different-ages\/#:~:text=And%20while%20both%20sexes%20prefer,can%27t%20risk%20choosing%20poorly.\">sexuality<\/a>, and even susceptibility\u200b to different kinds of <a\u2062 href=\"https:\/\/www.apa.org\/news\/press\/releases\/2011\/08\/mental-illness\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mental illness<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike the ironclad differences in body structure and genitalia, the temperamental \u200bdifferences between the \u2063sexes do \u200cexist on a \u2064spectrum \u2013 while some personality traits may be more \u2063common in women or more \u200ccommon \u2062in men, \u200cthere will\u2063 be some\u2062 men who are more feminine,\u200c and some women \u200dwho are\u2063 more masculine. But\u2063 the fact \u200cthat there are exceptions to the\u2062 rule does not disprove the \u2064general \u200dpattern: while\u2064 there is considerable overlap between \u200cthe\u200d sexes along dimensions, along others the typical\u2064 differences are\u200b so great that exceptions are few and \u2064far between.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have to\u2063 make generalizations but\u2062 they have to be intelligent\u200d generalizations,\u201d Prager says.\u2064 \u201cAnd you\u200d always have to \u200doffer \u200dexamples to \u2063make your \u2064point about \u200cthe generalization.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Scientific Evidence and \u2064Anecdotes<\/h3>\n<p>One article Prager <a\u2063 href=\"https:\/\/psychcentral.com\/blog\/relationship-corner\/2018\/01\/female-vs-male-friendships-10-key-differences#3\" \u200ctarget=\"_blank\"\u200d rel=\"noopener\">cites<\/a> notes that women are\u200c more likely \u200cto suffer from\u200b mood \u200ddisorders such as anxiety or\u2063 depression, while men are more likely to \u200dhave autism or ADHD. \u200dThat \u2064roughly\u2064 tracks with personality\u2064 research, \u200dwhich suggests that women \u200care more\u200b sensitive\u2063 to\u2062 negative emotion than men, while\u2063 men\u2063 are on average\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/psychcentral.com\/blog\/relationship-corner\/2018\/01\/female-vs-male-friendships-10-key-differences#3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">more impulsive<\/a> and \u2062less sensitive to social \u200ccues than \u2064women.\u200b While\u2063 there is no shortage \u200dof depressed\u2062 men or autistic women,\u2063 women \u2063are \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/psychcentral.com\/blog\/relationship-corner\/2018\/01\/female-vs-male-friendships-10-key-differences#3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">twice as likely<\/a> to be diagnosed with \u200bdepression and men are\u200d more than\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/psychcentral.com\/blog\/relationship-corner\/2018\/01\/female-vs-male-friendships-10-key-differences#3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">4 times<\/a> as \u2063likely to be autistic.<\/p>\n<h4><a\u200d href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/episode\/coming-soon-episode-8-differences-between-men-and-women\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WATCH:\u2063 Episode 8: \u2064Differences Between Men \u200bAnd Women<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Another point Prager notes is\u2064 that male and female \u200dinfants\u200b <i>play<\/i> differently and have sex-based \u2063preferences in activities and\u200b toys. These differences have \u200bbeen validated cross-culturally and across species \u2013 infant <a href=\"https:\/\/psychcentral.com\/blog\/relationship-corner\/2018\/01\/female-vs-male-friendships-10-key-differences#3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i>monkeys<\/i><\/a> prefer either wheeled toys \u200cor plush, doll-like toys depending \u2064on whether or \u2062not they\u2019re\u200d male or female. \u2063As \u200ba whole, males\u200b are consistently more interested in motion \u2062and action while females are more interested \u2064in\u200d faces\u2063 and \u200cpeople.<\/p>\n<p>Prager also recounts an anecdote where \u200blifelong liberal Larry Summers \u2014 former\u200c Clinton\u200b Treasury Secretary and president\u2062 of \u200cHarvard University \u2014 \u2062<a href=\"https:\/\/psychcentral.com\/blog\/relationship-corner\/2018\/01\/female-vs-male-friendships-10-key-differences#3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bought<\/a> his young daughter\u200b toy trucks \u2062in\u2062 an attempt to \u200cbe \u201cgender\u2063 neutral \u2062\u201c as \u2062a parent, only \u200dfor \u2062her \u2064to\u200c immediately \u200ctreat the\u2062 toys like dolls, \u200ddubbing the \u200blarger\u200d one\u2062 \u201cdaddy truck\u201d and the smaller one \u201cbaby truck.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Differences in Behavior and \u2062Relationships<\/h3>\n<p>Men\u200c are also much \u2064more physically aggressive than women\u2062 and more likely to resort\u200d to violence. They tend to be\u200d more competitive and less likely\u2064 to take\u2062 disputes personally \u2014 Prager notes that\u200c male\u200c athletes have \u200dbeen found to shake hands,\u200c pat each other \u2063on the back or otherwise\u200d physically\u200c reconcile after a\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/analysis-heres-how-three-top-tier-transgender-athletes-stack-up-against-their-biological-sex\/\" title=\"ANALYSIS: Here\u2019s How Three Top-Tier Transgender Athletes Stack Up Against Their Biological Sex\">high-level competition<\/a> than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/5-times-transgender-athletes-dominated-womens-sports\/\" title=\"5 Times Transgender Athletes Dominated Women\u2019s Sports\">female athletes<\/a> \u2062are.<\/p>\n<p>Men \u2062also\u2064 tend\u200c to\u2063 be more rough-and-tumble in their friendships. \u2063\u201cWhen men really like each other, \u200bthey <i>insult<\/i>\u2064 each other,\u201d \u200cPrager\u200d notes.\u2064 By contrast, \u200bfemale friendships tend\u200b to \u200dbe built \u2062on emotional support and intimacy\u2063 \u2014 what a man might think of \u200das playful teasing would in\u200c that\u2062 context be a \u200bdevastating \u200cslight.<\/p>\n<p>Women, \u2064by contrast, tend \u2062to be\u200c more\u2064 innately nurturing. They \u2062largely \u200bavoid \u2063physical confrontation and are\u200c highly concerned with\u200d the health of relationships and\u2063 the \u2062needs of infants\u2063 and other \u200dvulnerable members of\u200b the group.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWomen\u2063 are optimized\u2064 for \u2063taking care of a \u2063child,\u201d Prager \u2064says,\u200d noting \u2063that this\u2064 observation should be uncontroversial\u2062 whether \u200byou believe they evolved to\u2062 be\u2062 this way or were created for that \u200dpurpose. The fact of the difference and \u200cthe obviousness\u200b of its\u200b importance \u200bis incontrovertible \u2014 human beings<i>\u2063 could not \u2062exist<\/i> if\u2064 someone wasn\u2019t focused\u2064 on caring for \u2063the next generation.<\/p>\n<p>Prager also notes that this difference extends beyond the \u200cimmediate \u2064household\u2062 and applies \u2063to views \u2062of\u2062 society at large.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWomen overwhelmingly are more likely\u200c to vote\u200c for the parties that want \u2062to nurture \u200cthose \u200cin society who \u200care, for example, poorer. \u200bThey vote\u200d for the <i>nurturing<\/i>\u200c party,\u201d Prager \u2064said.<\/p>\n<h3>Differences in Sexuality\u2062 and Romance<\/h3>\n<p>Perhaps most frustratingly, men and \u2062women have\u2062 different approaches \u200bto sex and romance, and often radically\u200d misunderstand one\u200d another.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWomen are aroused by their minds, \u200bmen are aroused\u200d by \u2062their\u2064 eyes,\u201d Prager argues.<\/p>\n<p>Men are\u200d predominantly\u200b aroused by visual\u200c cues\u200c of attraction: facial\u2062 symmetry, \u2064waist-hip ratios, and other cues \u2062for \u200bfertility and health. They\u200d also have a\u2063 greater interest in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/an-evolutionary-biologists-guide-to-finding-love-in-the-21st-century\/\" title=\"An Evolutionary Biologist\u2019s Guide to Finding Love in the 21st Century\">casual sex<\/a> and are allured by the prospect \u200dof sexual variety \u2014 they are overwhelmingly\u200c more \u2063likely to consume\u200b pornography,\u200b patronize prostitutes, or\u200b pursue casual hookups.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not an excuse,\u201d Prager says, \u2063arguing\u200b that\u200c those\u200c tendencies can be extremely destructive and have \u2064to be reined in, \u200d\u201cbut \u2063the fact that\u2062 reality \u200dposes a problem is not a reason\u2064 for a \u200bmature \u2064person to dismiss \u200cthe reality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>By\u200c contrast, while women are \u2062attracted to \u2064good-looking men, looks alone \u2064are rarely enough \u200dto\u200d keep their attention \u2063for long. Prager provides a\u2064 list of other\u200d factors women\u200c consider when assessing a man that are at \u2064least as important as his looks, if not more so, \u200bincluding (but \u2062not limited to): \u201cVoice, \u200bheight,\u200b brains, \u200dpersonality, money, success, fame, power, charm, sense of humor, confidence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Put more\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/psychcentral.com\/blog\/relationship-corner\/2018\/01\/female-vs-male-friendships-10-key-differences#3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">scientifically<\/a>: \u201cWhile both \u2063sexes\u2064 prefer a physically attractive mate \u2064or potential partner, \u200cmales have been shown\u200c to report \u200bstronger such preferences for attractiveness \u2026 Females are\u200d more selective about other characteristics\u200d because\u2063 their time\u200b for \u200creproduction is more limited so \u2063they can\u2019t\u200c risk choosing poorly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prager also \u2062noted \u2064that the feminist\u200b push \u200cfor \u2062\u201cempowered\u201d women to adopt male\u200c sexual \u200cnorms and \u200dpursue casual \u200bsex was \u2064actively making women <a\u2062 href=\"https:\/\/psychcentral.com\/blog\/relationship-corner\/2018\/01\/female-vs-male-friendships-10-key-differences#3\" target=\"_blank\"\u2064 rel=\"noopener\">miserable<\/a>.
